  1. Checked in here for some fire works but pretty calm ....
Stock markets have been flying but took a quick dive this afternoon when the Prez released some details of his plan to double the capital gains tax haha.  The word is anything that actually passes will be watered down a bit but ...the final number could definitely put this rally on a plateau, who knows ....where else will folks get their 8-10% annual return
The Global Chip Shortage looks to be the worst in 30 years and this is going to close more and more manufacturers in the short term as these shortages make completion of finished goods (including many cars) impossible.

Most chip OEM are booked till next year.. some of our businesses are booked solid till early 2022, craziest I’ve seen since the 2000 boom

  2. Bruins got their vaccines the other night so could explain some of their sluggishness...Sabres just suck

Wonder if they would have scheduled those shots if they had the Capitals or islanders today

  3. Again, people are divided on it being forced on people, not the act itself.

Right but that was not what I was responding in lavas comment, unless folks think masks mandates will be around 4ever.

  4. There’s maskers and anti maskers here. We’ll never agree so best to just keep it more science based discussion and we’ll all get along better.

Yeah, I mean I’m neither. I don’t wear a mask unless I have to. Just saying it’s crazy that people could be divided on something like that, makes me sad for our country.

  5. Hard to say, the culture is very guarded and I did not speak Japanese, but what I learned is that it’s sort of an unwritten rule that all follow

    .

Korea, Taiwan and China was similar but I saw more of an emphasis in Japan.

  6. did you notice any antipathy toward non mask wearers in Asia?

  7. I’m not so sure. Once the mandates are lifted, especially the indoor mandates, I think there will be some issues with maskers and non maskers. Conditioning is strong.

I hope not, but that was my comment, he said there will always be.. which I replied it’s normal in Asia, why would people fight about masks long after covid is gone?

  8. No one would complain about masks if they were optional. Do you seriously not get the real issue here?

Maybe u should read lavas post and get back to me when you comprehend it

  9. He’s not questioning your right to wear a mask. We are good with you wearing 2 masks and staying 6-1000 feet away at all times. Seriously, it’s not an issue for us.

He made it sound like there would be a WW3 between folks with masks and no masks, I pointed out is done in Asia, no big deal, people get along.

  10. Same here. To think there will always be some masked people looking at people without masks as some kind of killers is disturbing. What a way to keep people divided

You know wearing masks in Asia is normal when you are sick or during winter months? They’ve survived.. even I did when I lived there.

  11. The "why not" argument is especially gross when applied to young kids.

Young kids? I thought it was 16 plus?
I actually asked my 16 yr daughter if she wanted the shot, since she already had covid I said no rush.. she said why not? Get it done and move on, I like her attitude. My 18 yr can make his own decisions but he was also fine to get it. I don’t feel anyone is pressuring young adults to get it, they said most of their friends are 50/50, even if parents go it.

  12. On my diet last few months I've been under 1500 and lost almost 40 lbs, I've been working out too so that helps lose weight. I'm almost at my target weight so I can up a little once I get there though I've lost my appetite for big meals since I've got used to consuming less.

Congrats!! I’m at 22 lbs, also started running and cycling. It’s amazing the benefits of dropping excess weight. Running has been great, usually I get back pain or shin pain when I hit mile 3 or 4, but no pain and fastest pace I’ve done I’m years. 20 more to go.

  13. Bottom line.. as long as you burn off calories with exercise weight should not be an issue in tandem with watching caloric intake. It’s why diets don’t work . They lose weight, go off it and gain more back

I dont think his point was the weight, it was the other effects but I also don’t think you were saying drinking a few everyday is healthy.
