My son was the last scout in troop 9 northfield. He tried to work with greenfield/ hadley to eagle, he was unable to make it work. Tough to lead other scouts when there aren't any. So instead of an "eagle project," he basically rebuilt the northfield scouts from the ground up. Recruited a whole pack of cubs and now they're going strong. The troop has been around for like 97 years. He wasn't going to lose it on his watch. While the Greenfield troop may have the numbers, northfield has the infrastructure. Have you ever seen a scout troop with their own dedicated building? There is so much history upstairs and in the attic. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -

Yup. I forget the year it was when I went up there. It was below zero every day. Bundle up and it was fine. Drink plenty of caribou. I remember watching the car temp drop as we heard north. Gassing up at the border at -27 was definitely an education. Swimming at the hotel's outdoor heated pool was fun at -15. Hair would freeze if above water for more than 2 minutes. Thought I had a pic, but this is the best I could find... Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -

I just cleared mine in the rain. It might freeze up momentarily but it'll be better in the end. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -
Decided at 630am to head out to breakfast. Went north to the Putney diner. The flip to snow happened at the vt line, and by the time we were heading home, we saw trees down, branches snapping. Got off at exit 2 to hit the vt County deli and heard a couple of shotgun blasts in the woods. The trees are struggling with this. Time to shovel. Lol Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

My house is in between greenfield and the vt border, looks like it just moved out of the heavier echos. The band is drifting south. Greenfield is in it now and I expect to be in the meat of it in about a half hour. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -

There about an inch in Whately. Per radar, it's puking at my house... can't wait to see how much is there. Almost stationary band. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -
Damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear! Berkshire east took my acl too. I've only had about maybe 10 days on the snow in the past 3 years. Sucks. 3x last year. Zero so far this year. My gig there has ended, (long story, didn't really leave on good terms) so not sure if/ when I'll ever go back. On some level it makes me sad, I loved that place, and the Schaeffer's are good people. Yup. They've known just as long as we have that this upcoming storm is gonna suck, so why ruin it all. No doubt they'll push the piles out, track them up, then groom then out. It'll be hard and fast, but they'll come out ahead. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

I love it. You can actually see where he inserted the ruler the first time and pushed it towards the camera. He didn't like the amount so he then used the ruler to full-on create a pile in front of it. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -

600' 5 miles from the vt line. It's trying like hell to snow. White rain. Hoping to dynamically cool. I can only assume that 3-400' above me it's pounding. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -

Where are you living now? I thought that you were in the Springfield area, but judging by your posts on this thread, you've moved. ... must have missed that. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk -
Woke up with a solid coating. In and out of squalls all day so far, pretty much constant flakes in the air. Season flipped like a switch, love it. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

Yeah, our guy played in it too. Some of the stuff they did was hilarious. ... since it was a vet's day tourney, it starts at 11:11am and they make it 11 holes, with the practice greens played as holes. Here's one where they used their huge leaf blower. https://fb.watch/gO11rNHPSY/ Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk

Last round of the year was our annual veteran's day tourney. It's evolved into a "greenskeeper's revenge," and its typically on the last day that they're open. Scramble format. While it's sad that it's always the last round, it's one I look forward to every year. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
