  1. Measured 2.5" about a half hour ago. Still lightly snowing. Small flakes the whole way.
  2. I like hearing streets in downtown DC and Baltimore have caved, well done.
  3. Just went outside for a bit. Light snow started 4 hours ago. Still small flakes but piling up more quickly, 1.25" 29F
  4. The quiet/different quality of sound is the BEST. I like to soak it in, with no music or other distractions. Dude!
  5. Your former coworker did not understand the correct philosophy for living where he did. It would have made him a happier person. You NEVER expect to get the most. You barely pay attention to who gets the most. You can still hope for a good snow, or lucky fluke, but you don't play a comparison game. You hope to do well "considering" lol
  6. Snowing in the lowlands!
  7. Very light snow has begun. 32
  8. Wish I could do a beach chase so bad
  9. Yes! Swampdwelling snow weenies unite
  10. Agreed lmao I enjoy your lowlands posts, dailylurker
  11. I've complained a couple times about the NE screwzone in the storm thread. It was semi on topic re: model runs but semi-not. I get the annoyance. One thing I'll never do is deb in an obs thread. IMO if there's a snow that's good for a big chunk of the sub obs threads are mostly for people enjoying the snow. Obs from all over are normal ofc, but persistent "this sucks for me" posts are depressing.
  12. Same My area and HdG are swamps lots of lowlands up here
  13. I literally lold at the perfect N/NE MD screwzone notch on the ukmet a page back. A familiar sight. I am 'Zen' at this point, truly, no lie. Just taking as it comes (or doesn't).
  14. I didn't catch any posts needing an apology but this is thoughtful thanks. Snow is serious business, eh? Our time will come. NE MD will be pummeled again as god is my witness! Even here in The Lowlands of SE Harford.
  15. A geo gripe. Let's talk about the term "the lowlands". As in, it's already been an amazing winter for the lowlands. it just wants to snow in the lowlands. I took a look at the 12z/0z/whatever runs and think everyone in the lowlands will be happy. I just mentally substitute "AA/Calvert county" but for the record...coastal plain keeps going north of AA county!
  16. Trees, cars, elevated surfaces glazed. 32
  17. Ready for my festival of ptypes Snow and sleet before 3am, then freezing rain and sleet. The sleet could be heavy at times. Low around 31. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  18. Just over a half inch rain here. River ice update, finally seeing some open water but mostly still covered around here, as of now. I have posted this before in past freezes...bald eagles love conditions like this. Even more so when a bit more opens up. They hang out on the ice and ice-fish. This morning I saw five of them on the ice, kind of fanned out. I don't have a proper camera/lens alas. Also observed a fox just casually sitting/strolling around on the ice yesterday. I don't know if he or she was looking for fish, too, or just exploring
  19. The latest ice chart. Full ice cover here still..
  20. Fast ice is accurate for the Bush River, near the top of the western shore. Everything I can see from my area still looks totally covered today. Agree about the lack of soggy, squishy snow melt. It's disappearing but in a very considerate way haha. Had a great afternoon walk in the woods.
  21. 12/24 - T 1/3 - T 1/6 - 4.75" 1/11 - 1.25" 1/16 - 0.25" 1/19 - 1.25" Total: 7.50"
  22. High of 19. Wintry sky and virga
  23. Low of 10
