  1. Chased the tor warned cell near Cissna Park, Illinois. Pics are from around 5:15 pm. Some decent rotation for awhile. Tried to stay with it but was difficult with the rain. Few pics

Regardless, very strong synoptic ascent and low/deep-layer shear will support a threat of damaging winds and tornadoes if surface-based storms can be sustained into the Great Lakes and Midwest region during the afternoon and evening. Higher severe probabilities for damaging winds and possibly tornadoes may be needed In future outlooks, as confidence in the warm frontal position and convective evolution are further resolved.

  6. Decent line of storms fired up just north of here. Some good lightning. Most exciting event so far this month. Haha.
  7. Same thing happening here at my house. Didn’t know what it was at first. A few have been very loud.
  8. Has anyone else been hearing the Frost (Ice) quakes? I’ve been hearing them pretty regularly since yesterday evening. One at 1:30 am sounded like a tree fell on my roof.

  10. Wow, just turned on Earthcam TV for downtown and seen a lightning strike light the whole sky up. Impressive

  13. A bit late to the party but I took this picture in the evening of July 12 after the tornado-warned storms passed the city, as I was heading downtown.
  14. T storm warned cell west of that one looks really good.
  15. Tor warned cell dissipating just northeast of Eureka earlier.
  16. Guessing around 2 inches by me so far. More in town.
  17. Good luck. Finally changing over to snow here in the west end of the county.
