  1. Low clouds moving south rapidly here even as a new storm is approaching from the opposite direction. Starting to see a slight greenish glow as well.
  2. One of the more impressive radars I've seen around here. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=DIX-N0Q-1-24
  3. Back in PA the storms are forming into a more cohesive line.
  4. Moderate rain and some thunder in midtown as the storm moves in.
  5. A couple cells just popped up around EWR. Still full sun here.
  6. Storms popping between Baltimore and Harrisburg. Those are the ones to watch for the city.
  7. SPC isn't bullish at all for the threat today. 2% tornado and 15% wind is pretty underwhelming given the setup. At any rate, the meso models now have some discrete storms moving through around rush hour followed by the main line 1-2 hours later.
  8. Really impressive light show looking south from Chelsea. And here's the NAM for tomorrow evening.
  9. I'm in Forest Hills at a concert and it's honestly not bad at all. Warm but not unbearable.
  10. Park at 91 at noon. 100 is going to be a stretch. Interestingly, it looks like the GFS is winning the dewpoint battle against the Euro so far. DPs in the mid 70s rather than upper 70s-low 80s across the area.
  11. I work in a major skyscraper and our AC was turned down yesterday because of a request from the city. It sucked for me but hopefully there are enough power saving steps being taken by big consumers to minimize blackout chances.
  12. Those training storms in PA are puking rain. Radar indicating over 7" near Titusville.
  13. GFS was a few degrees too warm most locations with temp and a few degrees too low with dews. Makes sense.
  14. Those statements aren't necessarily contradictory. Euro was very warm with the 850 temps 2 days ago.
  15. The ultimate nightmare would be a derecho knocking out power the night before the 2 hottest days of the summer. At least Manhattan shouldn't have any problems.
  16. 12z Euro backed down somewhat on the 850s for Saturday and Sunday.
  17. Gross outside. The NAM and HRRR agree that the city gets whacked by heavy rain in the midnight-2:00 AM timeframe.
