  1. Fwiw the 12z euro is very wet in the longer range....gfs, cmc not nearly so.
  2. Even with echos overhead , have only had sprinkles...nothing even measurable yet.
  3. The urban heat island has always been there as long as there have been cities...but of course it is expanding as we continue to develop. Not much you can do about it I guess as people need places to live as the population increases. For some reason it seems to me to be downplayed when talking about our increasing temps. I see it here as my temps here on si can be 10-15° lower at times than the urban areas.
  4. Yes 90° is much more realistic....it's those 95° readings...never say never though I guess.
  5. It would be incredible, that's why I find it hard to believe...Euro does seem to overdo extreme Temps sometimes both cold and hot.
  6. Remember the time of year it is, so even a temp in the upper 80's, would be the equivalent of a 100° reading in July, departure wise. Temps over 90° would be impressive indeed.
  7. Like the article states...before the Nam is discontinued, improvements to the gfs etc. need to be made. I agree with the strengths of the nam that are mentioned, and find it most accurate for 2m temps.
  8. Really no signs of dryness around here...Got in on some of the heavier rains earlier in the month so 2.11" for the month...and with 70" the preceding 12 months, things look ok.
  9. Congrats Anthony on your engagement!!!!!!!
  10. Another 89° high this season. Tied record high for date.
  11. Depending on the station, but here I've never hit 90 in October in 40 years of record...Highest is 89 on the 8th in 2007.
  12. Winds stayed up here last night so didn't quite make 40's...Month running a -1.0° departure thru yesterday.
  13. My father worked his way up to supervisor at the Manor rd. office for many years...Long time ago...retired around 1980.
  14. Some of us heading for our first 40's this week...Nice today, 75/56 temp split.
  15. Yeah I count four out of the last ten as below normal...thats the Dec-Feb period...if you want to extend winter thru Mar, the number may be higher with the cold Marches the last several years.
  16. I don't know if he mistyped or what, but a ridiculous statement if not.
