About a -5 degree departure so far this month... Just 0.22" of precip this month with not much showing up on the 12z guidance over the next week to 10 days...We'll see if that changes in the coming days.
Looks like we'll be well down in the 20's by midnight for low temps, with a 55 degree reading here this morning for the high...with some on and off light snow past couple hours.
Can't these geniuses keep these possible very minor events "in house" so to speak...instead of making these public statements, which lead to the inevitable "Weather man was wrong" comments from the public.
We may have a shot at some record lows from Tues ( midnight) thru Thurs am. This arctic outbreak coincides with the one in 1986 when my station hit 19°.
24° low sets station record for coldest so early in season...maybe we can do it again with next week's airmass. Similar early cold records were set last Nov also.
With the talk about early snows and crappy winters....I had forgotten already that last year fit that bill...had 6" here on 11/15, then just 5.5" from Dec thru Feb... March delivered 10" to at least get me over 20".
