  1. Last measurable snow here was Jan 18th...just a few traces since. Sheesh.
  2. Yes 3/18 was excellent...Had 25" here that month.
  3. Definitely...many times I see something posted which I know isn't correct...That's when I dig out my records.
  4. Our winters are very variable of course when it comes to snow...The decades though do tend to still average not to far from normal. Decadal snowfall from the 70's thru now range from an avg. of 26.2" in the 80's to 31.6" in the 2000's. The exception of course is the 2010's which have averaged 39.5" , not including this year. These are my SI figures...your results may vary.
  5. Been measuring snow since 1974...Have had three seasons with under 10" of snow...So far 6.8" this season. Last time with under 10" was 2011-12.
  6. Yeah had another 3.5" on Apr. 2nd...That was also my coldest April on station record.
  7. March of 18 was excellent here on SI...Had 25" total for month and 13.5" with the 21st-22nd event.
  8. ^^^^ I remember that storm well...My wife and I had a meeting that we had to attend the next morning in Manhattan...Had to shovel out the car at 4am and drive a couple miles to catch the bus into the city.
  9. The lake levels are high because of well above normal precip last couple of years.... I remember not too many years prior, the levels were very low and there was concern about that.
  10. Euro has us going from 60° Thursday to well down into the teens for Fri--Sat am.
  11. I for one am looking forward to my 28.85" pressure reading tomorrow...it ain't much, but its all we got...
  12. Freeze, flood, rain, snow...bring it. Only thing I don't want in winter is warmth.
  13. Feb 2017 and 2018 were mild, some stations did hit 80° in 2018...last Feb was about 1° above normal only, my station got to 65° max.
  14. The only good thing so far for me is that Dec, at least the first three weeks was ok with some snow and cold....got to enjoy the winter feel leading up to Christmas.
  15. Don't know what station you're using, but low temps last 6 winters here on SI .... 2, 0, -1, 11, 2, 1 .
  16. We also have to break out of this dry pattern we've gotten into this month...which looks to continue thru the first week of February.
  17. Love those old posts...Yes some have had a long downplaying career.
  18. The problem is some posters are just a broken record...same thing every post. Ever notice how with some, you know what they posted even before you read it lol.. It's amazing how well that works for some.
  19. I love it all...not just snow. Having your own weather station in your backyard, which I have had since I was ten...makes it all the more enjoyable. I have my own stats, my own normals.
  20. Models really did a poor job on this current rain event...were showing 2" or so amounts thru the weekend pretty consistantly...That changed suddenly yesterday am, now we'll be lucky to see a few tenths.
  21. You tend to get in trouble when you start off your posts with a valid point but usually wind up going over the top...You do it a lot.
  22. Hard to pick out a favorite snowstorm but the boxing day storm may be it for me...The storm itself coupled with it occurring around Christmas...We always would go to my parents on Christmas day to celebrate...Knowing there was a blizzard coming the next day seemed too good to believe.
  23. I know, we all kid. Everything is slanted nowadays....people like you and I know it and filter accordingly... Unfortunately their are alot of people out there who can't think for themselves and believe everything they hear and read. I agree with the above post that people would be more informed if they read a newspaper instead of getting all their news from clicks.
