    Going to be a tough forecast for the NW burbs. They're just beyond the sharp cutoff of a storm trending NW. Probably need warnings up all the way to the MD line based on experience with past storms.

    GFS has more than every other model. I really think this will probably be a 6-10" event with not many 10+ totals.

    Good to see the EUro somewhat on board. I still want to wait for 00z before getting too excited. I've seen occasional run cycles where all guidance hiccups, and shows something odd before reverting back 6hrs later. This did seem like a pretty big jump from whats been shown the past several days.

    There is a lot of discrete stuff ahead of the line extending all the way to the gulf coast.

    RGEM and ICON pretty bad too. NS is more amped forcing the cutoff to happen further south.

    The zonal flow is pretty brutal here. If something does manage to come north and produce a 6"+ event in DC It'd be very impressive.

    Right now it looks like the ridge in the plains has all the momentum and isn't going to give the ULL enough time in the pocket.

    It's leaving the energy further back every run. It will probably get shredded like the CMC/NAVGEM are showing if it gets left much further back.

    00Z GFS shows it too now, 38mb in 12hrs this time. It would be close to a 12hr deepening record for an ET cyclone if somehow it verified.

    Add this to the list of my favorite model glitches. CMC 180-192 shows a 39mb pressure drop on an ET cyclone over land. That's almost double the Cleveland superbomb.

    18Z GFS has silly looking 985MB low over Buffalo day 4. Gives NE plenty of snow and us plenty of wind.

    850s are way too warm. Surface is too. There's no point in tracking storms until we get cold.

    Anyone have a meteorological explanation of why winds from the record 133kt Vrot and the 30kft+ TDS wouldn't have mixed down to the ground?
