  1. ICON is very similar to the GFS. Just about 12 hrs quicker and 100 miles further west.
  2. GFS maintains a 957mb low through central quebec, somehow not weakening.
  3. Most of the important stuff happens ahead of the flow between hours 36 and 96.
  4. Looks like there'd be some strong winds in NYC with that gradient. Something close to Isaias I would think.
  5. I suspected it yesterday. ICON UKME and CMC all had it and so did plenty of members from the GEFS and EPS.
  6. January 2011 type evolution. The first wave rides up the front and OTS then we get demolished by the CCB from the ULL.
  7. Icon, UKmet and CMC don't look very promising for this event. It's a strong coldfront on all of them. Rain, then cold and windy with snow squalls.
  8. A 1011mb surface low in the gulf is the best this troff could do.
  9. There are a substantial amount of cutters on both the GEFS and EPS. Relax I'm just the messenger.
  10. Yeah was just about to post that. There are a lot of cutters.
  11. The Euro has upper level support for it's initial coastal low. The 18z GFS does not. It forms just cause of an arctic high hitting the gulf stream and in an area of rising heights.
  12. I have no good analogs. February 1972 and January 1935 look the closest
  13. Suface low reforms further southwest at 186 like last nights euro.
  14. More ridging ahead of the troff at 144hrs
  15. When was the last time Atlanta got more than 2" of snow?
  16. Hits Dixie and the Carolinas pretty hard. Another run showing something historic along the east coast.
  17. No power and a -30 windchill over the Northeast quarter of the country. Merry Christmas to all.
  18. The heavy snow over New England won't verify because New England has already been wiped off the map by 200mph winds at this point.
  19. CMC is even better. It also likes the premature coastal idea for some reason. It's the only thing stopping a January 1966 setup.
  20. GFS with a perfect H5 track this run. 516 closed low over VA NC. It just ruins it with a coastal low forming too far out to sea. We get some snow anyway.
