  1. Only extremely behind now. 7-17 has a nice variety for the sunset. Looking WNW pre-sunset. The broad and kind of undefined crepuscular rays are not really that exciting but they way to top of the cloud bank is delineated looks cool to me. Taken ith the 24-70mm at 70mm... Looking southwest around sunset so you have some context on the last and better shot. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... The best of the post sunset color looking southwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm...
  2. Just saw on a feed here that the police at the Minnesota State Fair were telling people to take shelter. Everything turn out OK?
  3. I thought it felt ugly here at 91/70 and then looked LOT and see 93/79 and say no thank you.
  4. With the leaf drop soon to happen, and the excellent drying conditions, I sealed the driveway for the year, yesterday. It was starting to flake off in chunks and needed to be sealed before the rains start and so not stop again. I do not care what they advertise, 3 years or 5 years, they only last one year before planned obsolescence occurs.
  5. I miss Hoosier keeping us updated on drought conditions. You reminded me to look it up... Looks like you are only up to D0 as of the 20th.Here we are still fine, so they say.
  6. Now that is almost a first. KIND made it to 90 and you did not.
  7. Finally, it rained here. 0.92" in the tippy bucket. But that fell in twenty to thirty minutes so there was a lot of run off with the rock-hard dry ground.
  8. 79/52 and partly cloudy to mostly sunny all day. This was the kind of day that you want to copy and paste as a perfect summer day. Lets do it again real soon!
  9. Under the category of you do not see this very often, KIND on the five minute obs, the best they could do was 91/74/101 numerous times. But the official high temp rounded UP to 92. Someone needs to send a medic to Spartman to see if he is OK.
  10. Gained back the dew point degrees from yesterday. 91/72/99 made today feel kind of bad outside. Even the mosquitos chased me inside this evening while playing guitar on the front stoop a little bit ago. Just not a nice day to be outside.
  11. I noticed on the bike ride yesterday that the early corn is starting to mature in the bottom quarter of the stalks. Always a bad sign that cooler temps are in the future.
  12. Now in the dog days of summer. Cicada time. And the time for extreme measures to keep the impatiens alive.
  13. After being 88'd yesterday, today we lost a couple of degrees of dewpoint and that allowed us to make it to 90 degrees.
  14. Looks like that corridor from Van Wert to Lima OH is in for another severe storm. I do not know what it is about that lane of geography, but storms really do seem to like that area, year after year after year.
  15. Swing and a miss with today's MCS to the west and south. I would not mind another 0.75" tomorrow though. It could not make the humidity much worse. The dewpoint is already 73 degrees. How much higher could it go?
  16. Always surprises me that CG's come in a variety of sizes. Just had a popcorn fart from a tiny cell over the house a minute or two ago. Sounded like someone shot a shotgun off in the alley behind the house. Baby bolt.
  17. Last night had some magic in the air...
  18. 7-6 was a crepuscular rays night. Broad and middle of the road quality but still very evident. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...
  19. 7-3 had a nice red flash. It was broad and spotty but still that vivid red color for an extremely short amount of time. Taken with the 24-70mm at 39mm...
  20. 0.53" with the noon downpour today. Could use a little bit more. Had a few sprinkles around sunset that did not budge the tippy bucket though. Maybe tomorrow?
  21. Cool image. Blue cones, blue signs, blue ride and a blue waterspout.
