I guess the 63/62 explains why the ferns are so nuclear in your area.

Last 15 or so of the five minutes from KIND have been 90/68/94. Will have to see if it rounds down later on and draws the ire of the Dayton dude. Is it warm out? Yes. Is it hot out, I suppose so if you are not acclimated to the strong sunshine. I do not believe it is dangerous hot though, at least here.

^ sure, burn up the lawn just before the Fourth so some yahoo can torch it when they fire off all the fireworks. *sigh*
-
Yeah, I see on the five minute obs, 81/43 at the latest of the hottest part of the day for a Heat index of 80 at KIND. Was warm but able to mow the lawn and not break out in a big sweat. Chamber of Commerce day if not for the breezy conditions.

Typical Tuesday morning quarterbacking. Locking the barn door after the horse is gone, etc. etc. etc.. I get that people are upset because the kids are being killed but the meteorologists did not do it, the weather did. The general public basically ignores storms as long as people are not being killed. But then suddenly they get their knickers in a twist when things take a sudden turn.

Ha! I kept the faith that eventually that rain would get here. And the choo-choo train sideswiped the house. 0.91" in the tippy bucket. Must have rained hard and fast as all the old maple seeds got blown out of the gutters.

I have been slacking in sharing my clouds. The hard drive had gotten full, full and I have been burning pictures off of the harddrive instead. On May 17th, had a good day of clouds. A solitary popcorn cell, looking southeast as I got out to the overpass. Taken with the 23-70mm at 70mm and cropped in the camera... The sunset was very minimalistic. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Had some nice red looking southwest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... And even more red looking to the north. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm and cropped in the camera...

I was greatly annoyed turning the soil in the flowerbed this morning from all the biting black flies here Bleh! At noon already 81 with a dewpoint of 66 at KIND. Feeling steamy outside.

Even though forky laments that you only get one good week with lilies. I live in that back row for that week...

I thought that was what the chickens were for, other than fresh eggs for breakfast more often than not. 76 at KIND today also but our dews were only in the low 40's. You win today!

Pretty wild when you think that a cold lake saves your sensitive vegetation in Marquette while Bo's tomatoes and chickens get blasted inland.
-
And no screaming and yelling. How refreshing.

2.46" with round 1 this late afternoon. Fairly lock-step with the radar estimates out of KIND. Will round 2 make it here or will it get trashed with the loss of daytime heating? For those Michiganders that like the thunder and lightning, round 1 had some doozies here. Rattled the house quite a number of time and heard one snap before the boom, so one was even extremely close.

That tweet say it is a preliminary assessment. That is not necessarily the final call. They even state in the tweet that further tweaks may be made.

Always scary to watch the atmosphere un-zip, like it did from Missouri to Kansas and Oklahoma.

Electrical transmission looks horrible, but the wheat looks great!

^ There is someone with a valid complaint about the weather.

Only 87 at KIND. Still felt hot out in the Sun doing yardwork.
-
I need to re-think hoping for a little more rain. In the 24 hour span from noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday, I had 3.52" in my tippy bucket. It might be a touch high according to the radar estimates out of KIND, but it is in the ball-park.

^ the chicken takes the photo over-the-top.

WooHoo! 1.04" since noon here. and some yellows and orange are still parked overhead. Hoping for 1.25"+. Need every drop so far.

There were sever storms south and east of me on the 7th. This is looking south at the tail end charlie cell. Some nice structure here. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm...

I forgot where I saw it but someone mentioned some smoke in the air recently. On the evening of the 11th, there was a lot of smoke here. Sorry I am so late in getting this out. Finally was able to download the card.
