  1. Kind of in a lull between systems today. Starting off mid-afternoon looking north at some cirrus. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... In the alley behind my garage looking northeast. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... Some nice texture to the sky close to sunset looking west. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Ending the night with a look to the southwest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 44mm... Cheers!
  2. Thunderhail! Sounded horrible against the picture window. Woke me up from a full sleep. Sirens being activated for the southern part of the county now.
  3. Nice article. I like how they explain how they came to get this image.
  4. A first for the season. Was able to take a sunset image after work. Only had time after driving home, of grabbing the camera and walking a block over to the other side of the bank. But at least I was able to document what the sky looked like. Nothing special as a sucker hole opened up at the right time. Taken with the 16-35mm at 21mm...
  5. Iceresistance might have to revise his vacation itinerary. I'm heart-broken.
  6. Oh wow! Henryville was ten years ago? Time flies after the debris ball falls.
  7. weatherbo measures by the foot or two.
  8. Some extra nice texture to the sky this evening. Question was, would the color play also? Nice *bumps*. Taken with the 24-70mm at 30mm... Some nice pre-sunset color with the *bumps*. Taken with the 24-70mm at 38mm... And yes, the post sunset color did come out to play! Taken with the 24-70mm at 28mm... Last image of the evening and what a beauty. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Good night my darlin', wherever you are...
  9. One of the first 60+ days of the season and the bulbs are saying hello!
  10. Finally, a death knell for winter. The sandhill cranes were honking their way back north today. A good sign.
  11. A sun dog kind of night. An early wispy sun dog. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... An overview of a later sundog Taken with the 24-70mm at 33mm... A close-up of the later sun dog. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Last image of the night but no sun dog. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...
  12. That station is calling it already? Oh wow, I did not notice only three days left in the month. Come on March!
  13. One of those good news/bad news things. Good news, it is not getting much worse. Bad news, it is not getting any better.
  14. Kind of a bummer that KIND's radar is down. But it is probably a good thing for this event. When it is a *kitchen sink* storm, probably best just to stick the head out the door more often to see what it is doing MBY at the moment. It is only going to change a lot.
  15. Tonight was simple. One image to the east and one to the west. Nothing special, nothing fancy. The view to the east. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... The view to the west Taken with the 24-70mm at 33mm...
  16. Cracked 60 both here and at KIND with 61 degrees. Too bad this will not last. A person could get used to being comfortable outside.
  17. I had to chuckle. Yesterday on the Duluth Canal Cam, lots of people out walking. Today, not so much. More like Ghost Canal.
  18. So, all you winter weather weenies, which looks coldest? The ice in color, yes, the bank next door has those yellow sodium security lights. Or the ice in B&W which is a bit blander.
  19. ^Yes, you look snow starved there. Definitely need another foot. lol
  20. Flood warning has verified in my county. The one tributary we have, Prairie Creek rose to 11.73 feet sometime around seven p.m.. Moderate flood stage for that gauge is 11.0 feet. And that is the highest that gauge has been since 2018.
