I am going to have to split today into two separate posts. It was one of those days behind the viewfinder. The afternoon session. The Courthouse and the altocumulus. Taken with the 24-70mm at 27mm... The cirrocumulus has wings. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... The cirrocumulus and the tree at my morning sunrise location. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm...

I do not see any spaghetti lines anywhere near where we are right now.

The sunset this evening. I did not think the sunset would amount to much. But there was some clouds to the west. So I took the camera out to the country to get a good and clear view to the far west. Did not bring the tripod though, as I was not expecting much. So these are handheld through the car window. Blame any soft image on the photographer, not the camera. The sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and cropped in the camera... Max red, Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and cropped in camera... Deepest red with the electric blue starting to creep in at the top. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and cropped in camera... Cheers!

52 at KIND and CAVU all day. Life is good day for early February.

This will piss off the winter weenies. This afternoon a small V of sandhill cranes were winging their way back north. True this is just the vanguard and not the main body of V's upon V's. But Mother Nature is still starting to think about the coming Spring. With minimal cropping and just a hint of a sundog... A whole bunch of cropping on this one. About a third of the sensor was all that was saved...

The sunrise this morning. Taken with the 24-70mm at 63mm... A smidge later when the reds were higher in the sky. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm...

Sort of tried to break the inversion around sunset here. I could sense some blue up there, but it only lasted about five minutes and then it was back to solid grey again/still...

Just an assumption, but it sounds like you are not logged in under chrome and safari.

That is the change (dt) not the current conditions. There is still D1 in the Midwest. You can see the map in the link below... Midwest | U.S. Drought Monitor (unl.edu)

I am only hyped about the eclipse here in April. The insects can hang till after that.

You must have some "Arnold" type cicadas there in Erie.

WooHoo! The dewpoint is above freezing here at KIND. Been awhile since I have seen that.

First sunset of the year. It warmed up to a whole whopping 20 degrees so it was time to get back at shooting evening colors. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and cropped in camera...

Did we make it to 1041mb at KIND today. Looks like it in the five minute data. We were at 1040.9 and then it ticked up one more hundredth in between the hour.

Amazing that you can get drifts with just two inches of snow, but you can.

Snow depth here on the east side of the house in the Sun. On the west side of the house in the shade. The blue skies make the snow turn real blue in the shade.
