  1. Been living in this 20th floor apartment for 5 years and needless to say this is tops. Just howling.
  2. Looks like a nasty cell headed from Long Beach to queens/Brooklyn and then Manhattan.
  3. Nice. Jackpot over NYC. What are the ratios? 10:1?
  4. Really nice little storm. Perfect Saturday afternoon mood snow. Park was great and people were sledding.
  5. Yeah, I'll split the difference. Took some measurements - got 1" in several places on our terrace. Elevated places (tables, chair arms).
  6. What passes for excitement this winter...
  7. Back from a nice run in Central Park at 65 degrees. I'll take it. Reminds me of Christmas Eve 2015.
  8. just started at tip of Wall Street. We should get it longer.
  9. Angle of that line looks like it’s primed for maximum duration in Manhattan!
  10. Snowfall rates have appreciably lessened in past 30 + minutes in lower Manhattan. Visibility has gone from about 1/2 mile to well over (based on looking out my window across the river at Brooklyn). Snow has not stuck to anything.
  11. In my new job I actually have operational responsibilities requiring me to track snow When would the heavier snow potentially hit in the city? Is this going to derail the evening commute?
  12. My new daytime/work location this year is right on the water, at the tip of Wall Street in lower Manhattan. Still drizzle here.
  13. What the hell is this. I rode my bike to work today on the wings of the perfect forecast.
  14. Not sure you call this rotation, but looking west from my window in midtown, I can clearly see a layer of clouds moving South (while the direction of the storms is from SW to NE). It's ominous as sh*t.
  15. I made this from tonight. Enjoy. https://vimeo.com/339030138 (annoying that embed doesn't work)
  16. Watching from the bleachers here on the UWS. All going to our south
  17. When do we think this realistically exits? We're flying out of JFK at 11 AM tomorrow.
  18. I am talking about today, a Monday. There are hundreds of thousands of kids probably unsupervised because their parents had to go to work. I honestly think it's the social media backlash (coverage of traffic jams) that creates the real fear (more so than actual legal exposure).
  19. I'm not questioning the measurement. I'm just saying it's a hollow 5" with the compaction and quick melting. As meaningful as being the NFC South Champion. :p I have a terrace with furniture on it, so I get to do the suburban picnic table measurement stuff, too.
