  1. Certainly another sneaky system that has the chance to over-perform for us. NAM isn’t as enthused.
  2. A few snow flakes around the area this morning.
  3. I had no clue that a Snow Squall warning was a product issued by the NWS. One is currently in effect for Charleston, WV.
  4. Had a few squalls here but nothing more than a dusting. North east of Gate City has 2-3 inches as multiple squalls have trained all morning. Sun is now out.
  5. Starting to get a nice burst of snow. Let’s see what it can do
  6. About half an inch at the house. Ran 14 miles in Kingsport this morning from 7-9:30 and got smacked in face with plenty of snow.
  7. 33 and rain. The worst weather for a snow lover imaginable. [emoji23]
  8. About an inch of snow. I thought this system had the chance to over perform at little bit. This could of been a great system forum wide if the northern stream didn’t squash our energy.
  9. Snow has made it to the ground and the non treated roads
  10. 60 dBZ snow returns in that band. That is incredible for anywhere let alone Mississippi. Congratulations to all our Southern friends on an epic event!
  11. Band has really developed Maryville to Morristown. Moving southward. 3” here total. It is melting quickly now. Water is pouring down the driveway. I would love to know the liquid equivalent of this event. Probably around .5-.6 here.
  12. I was fixing to say that the band from Kingsport to Bristol has stalled out.
  13. 2.5” now. Light snow. I’m sure a little bit of snow has compacted and will continue to do so as the day goes on. So may not measure more than I have now.
  14. Woah!!!! Awesome that’s a big total! Glad to see the northwest shield make it that far.
  15. 2” now. Rates have slacked somewhat but still coming down moderately.
  16. Heavy wet snow continues. Just over an inch currently. Ratio has to be 5:1 or close to it. Very pasty snow. Probably would of already had 3 if a normal 10:1 ratio applied. Temp is 33.
  17. Coming down a nice thicc paste right now. Dusting.
  18. Someone on the southern Plateau (probably not the correct terminology) is getting plastered.
  19. I’ve pretty much given up hope here as virtually all modeling has shifted south the band.
  20. Also of note is that the storm is now within the HRRR range in 18/0/6/12z runs
  21. I love a good storm where I could get 6” or 0”. But, that is what makes these things so fun to track living in the Tennessee Valley. I have a gut feeling that some of the models are under doing the precip shield on the north but it doesn’t really matter if our 500/850 lows continue to trend south. Normally I would say they would trend Northwestward but with so much blocking in place a further southeast movement and off the coast looks very likely.
  22. I’ll take the 12z RGEM and see y’all next winter. [emoji23]
  23. Still so much uncertainty with this system. It will all come down to how the 500mb/850 low swings around the mountains. I would really like to see a NE motion instead of a SE or E one. That is going to be make or break for a big system or nothing at all.
