Any of you border counties picking up anything? I have a friend just over the border in TN that says 23 and freezing drizzle. They said it is a skating rink there.

7 degrees Wed morning. 47 and rain Thursday afternoon. Nice. There is a snow likely Thursday night (with of course they always awesome, little or no accumulation) but I will believe it when I see it. Anyway, good luck to all. At a minimum, maybe we can all avoid busted pipes.

We'll get ours before the winter is done. There is time.

Just bored and missing snow, lol.

It was raining pretty good from Weaverville to almost downtown, nothing in town, and picked up again about Brevard Rd near the outlets. Temps were 35 in Weaverville, 41 in town, and 37 here in Candler. Really varied conditions today. No snow though.

So, I was bored. I drove 26 to find snow. I got to Buckner Gap 3370 ft and there was a mix. I got to Sam's Gap and there was the beginning of snow with some on the ground in TN. There was more in TN but it diminished quickly. A few miles outside Erwin, the temp dropped to 30 and it was pouring snow. Snow on the ground and snow on the interstate. A few miles down the road in Erwin was a mix again though there was some on the ground. I turned around there and got back to Sam's Gap and it was heavy snow on the TN side, but quickly diminished on the NC side. Bottom line, the cold air in the upper atmosphere is somewhere near Erwin, TN. It was fun to see snow for a little bit.

Lol. I like all these guys, but at 2200 feet, I am a mountain guy ... without the mountain results lately. I appreciate the invite. I will bounce back and forth.

Westmc9th is Asheville. We suck at snow, but we are not foothills, lol. Nothing wrong with the foothills though.... And wncsnow is just negative. He means no harm. He would be excited as anybody if we could get snow.

Ha! Ha! Yes. I don't hold out much hope for it, but I might as well ride something good until the ultimate 43 degree wind driven drizzle.

Not in this particular thread, "The Mountain Thread". For the SE forum as a whole, I'm sure you are correct.

This is the first time that I have been optimistic in 2 years. I think we have a good chance to at minimum to finally get at least an inch.

I haven't posted anything this winter. It has seemed pretty definite that everything will turn to trash the closer the model runs come to the event. NWS has downtown staying all rain, not even a sleet pellet and only "maybe" an inch where I am in Candler. So, hoping for a miracle. Seems like we are due. Anyway, I would like to concur with the compliments from above. I know so many people that say, I listen to this guy, lol. I say, Hunter?? Yeah, that's him. You do a great job, right or wrong and you are right more often than not. But, I don't envy anybody forecasting around here !!! So, keep doing doing what you are doing. People appreciate it. ... And this is not to minimize any other local forecaster.

That may be on the low end IF the models are correct. A big IF.

33 here. I wish it was 50. If there is no snow, I am ready for warmth.

I am not sure it is trending better yet.... Maybe on the operational GFS. The ensembles and the Euro show a pretty weak system. Hopefully, though, the GFS is correct and we get one last good snow before the warm up. I appreciate your optimism though.

10.5 at the airport as of midnight last night. I am not sure if they got much after midnight. It was pretty bare over there when I took my daughter home. I am at 16 inches at my house.
