  1. The posts in the main discussion thread are always greater when there is the perception that we are sucking. 18z made it pretty quiet, lol. Nothing has really changed except that the digital snow has increased again. It is still looking good for snow and cold for all the mountains I do believe.
  2. While waiting on the cold and snow, I have picked up 1.92 inches of rain since midnight and 2.65 inches total yesterday and today.
  3. Merry Christmas, Maggie Valley Steve!........ And to all the other Mountain and Foothill folks.
  4. 19.4 this morning. 3 straight mornings in the teens. It definitely feels like winter. It's hard to complain about this weather at Christmas. No snow, but no 75 either!!
  5. 15.8 here this morning. My second coldest of the season.
  6. Nice!! You deserve it. I hope that it keeps hammering!!! I have flurries, no accumulating snow. But, it's still very much like Christmas.
  7. NWS even mentioned snow showers down in the Valley, so fingers are crossed.
  8. Spent the week in St Louis. Very cold all week, then it warmed up enough for 35 and a windy rain yesterday. It does that everywhere that I'm at.
  9. GFS with multiple snow chances through the whole run. It will probably change, but it's fun to look at.
  10. Only 17.1 here this morning. Bottomed out early and stopped. 14 remains my coldest of the season.
  11. About 9:30 it was 33.8 here, and 50 by 10:00. I thought something happened with my sensor, lol. Your temp rise was even more extreme than mine!
  12. Just a dusting here. Still nice to see snow in the air.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving to the subforum glue that holds us all together!!!
  14. Crazy. I had my lowest temp of the year. 27.5. Now, that is an inversion.
  15. I love snow, but I don't even know what to think about that. Definitely not a good thing during the recovery from this disaster. The positive thing is that I can't remember very many, of any, mid October snowstorms. But, we can only take what we are given. We can't control it.
  16. It probably will do no good, but this explains that FEMA is not spending funds inappropriately. I'm here in the middle of this and I have seen with my own eyes them helping in numerous ways https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/false-claims-fema-disaster-funds-migrants-pushed-trump-rcna173955
  17. Briefly have cell service for the 1st time since Friday. I'm in Candler, SW of Asheville. In line to get gas. I feel fortunate to be alive. The destruction is unimaginable. We have no cell service or power or water. Our food is about out, but we are trying to find some today, along with thousands of other people. Massive trees to clean up, but minor stuff compared to the complete tragedy that others have experienced. The rivers and wind have done just insane damage. No nightmares would match this reality.

  20. He is doing an excellent job. That is the way that you present a serious weather situation. I know he gets some flack, but he is nailing this event.
