He does amazing work.

What's the thinking for the week to 10 days ahead for us mountain folk? Hope we don't get too too warm although I'm not disappointed we won't go through what we did last night for a while.
-
My thermometer just went negative.
-
I'm down to 5 degrees with a wind....I don't know what it is, but it's dang strong. It was blowing me around waking around on the iced parking lot.
-
Temp has fallen to 18. Dropped a degree in 30 mins according to my station. And it's a very blustery wind up here. Geez.
-
I just saw my Mountain point forecast for tomorrow at 7pm. 1 degree and 35 mph winds with gusts to 45. Geez. Wind chill -25. That's gonna bite.

Top of Beech Mountain. Snow has stopped. Hope it will pick back up

Thanks Eyewall. It's snowing like crazy now. And it's a tad breezy.
-
I could Google it, but what's the criteria for actual blizzard conditions. I'm up in Avery. Don't know if I've ever been in an actual blizzard lol

When I left my place yesterday at noon, we had 6.5-7" my car to clear off. Not sure what fell at the house after that since I've not been home since then. I went to a friend's house in Newland after getting back from JC and I ended up staying the night because the back roads were a mess. Wonder how much flow snow we get later in the week?
-
Probably have 2-2.5 in so far on the cars and elevated surfaces here. My thermometer says 32.2 but it might be a degree or so higher than the actual temp since I have the sensor mounted near my sliding door on my balcony. Snow still coming down but it's lightened up. Hope we catch the back side later today. I hope everyone is getting something. It would be great if we all get to enjoy this one.
-
I hope you're right but I hope everyone cashes in and maxes out. I'm thinking I'm not going to be able to make it from Beech to Johnson City for an appointment tomorrow lol.
-
I'm also at Beech and rates are looking like they are picking up for now. Not sure it matters much but I'm a bit 600 feet higher than where you are. Cars are starting to get covered and temp is 31.5

Nothing falling here yet. Thermometer still says 35 so hasn't dropped since the sun set.
-
35 degrees up here on Beech at 4pm. I love these chilly overcast winter days.
-
29 degrees up here on top of Beech with the balcony covered and parking lot now white. Very nice! Hope we are able to see some heavier stuff later this week.
-
I'm excited for everyone for the upcoming event. Unfortunately I'll be headed to South America over the weekend so I won't be home to take it all in. Hope y'all get slammed!
-
Man, I hate I won't be back home for the first (hopefully) snowfall of the year. I had to come to Guam for work, and fly back on the 31st/1st. Maybe I'll make it back for it?

Hey guys. I'm not on the boards much except for the chatter on snow and hurricanes, so I'll be monitoring things now that the tropics are heating up, but it has definitely been a nice break from the heat the last few days. I was on vacation in Maine last week, and I get home and it's actually cooler than several days I had up there. I was hoping to get under the 50 degree mark on the thermometer the other night. Came close. This is why I moved here permanently! -

Under a Severe T-storm watch. Wonder if the storms can get going any further south than they currently are up towards KY. I just flew home from Japan and am glad I beat this mess yesterday and today. -

I'm driving back home all day tomorrow, so I hope I can get home before the heavier rain comes. We need it though. -

I had to come down to Camp Lejeune for work yesterday and was quickly reminded why I had to move away from here. Im from ENC and have hated the heat and humidity from the day I popped out.
