  1. These training supercells are wearing me out. I'm about to go lookout for the third supercell and if it's on the ground.
  2. The third storm is now with Tornado Warnings for Mecklenburg, York counties
  3. It was creepy and ominous right when it passed over. The skies was bright blue with lightning and the rain started going sideways immediately after the eeriest portion.
  4. The couplet missed me by a 1/2 mile. Was eerily quiet then extremely windy and heavy rain afterwards.
  5. It's very windy and pouring down here now
  6. It's lightning up a storm right now with light winds with no rain. It's likely the rainfree base overhead
  7. I'm in Charlotte (Steele Creek area) and I'll report back if this 2nd one is producing a tornado
  8. I believe that it is a possible tornado on along North Tryon in the University City portion of Charlotte
  9. Tornado Warnings for Mecklenburg, Cabarrus counties for leading supercell
  10. There are reports of damage in Greenville County in the Pleasantburg Road area from the westernmost supercell
  11. I grew up in Birmingham, and having a dryline to move from west to east across North Central Alabama is not unheard of at all. I recall three severe weather episodes that occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s where supercells essentially formed in a linear fashion along those dryline and caused several spin up tornadoes along their paths. As a matter of fact, the one in the late 1990s was one of the two tornadoes I've experienced in my life was a result of these type of events.
  12. I'm originally from Birmingham and this weather is quite common for Central Alabama
  13. There were 2 tornado watches that have been issued in the last 30 minutes. Everyone from DC to GSP are now under a tornado watch.
  14. It was me that posted that HRRR data from 11AM this morning. The wind profiles are picking up across the Upstate of SC and Western NC with these storms per the Base wind velocity and composite from both the Greer and Columbia NWS radars. I would be watching those discrete cells that are crossing Greenville, Pickens, and Anderson counties as they get closer to Spartanburg and Cherokee counties. The instability levels are much higher over the Spartanburg area and Gaffney because of the sunshine from earlier today. These cells could start to further intensify as they head towards the Charlotte Metro.
  15. At what point will the pro forecasters and meteorologists admit that UK and ICON models are onto something that the NHC refuses to admit? It's bizarre because the storm is starting to move WSW rather than W now via infrared GOES and visible satellite imagery. This storm is looking more and more like a Florida landfall is going to occur.
  16. Ironically this region is long overdue for an enhanced risk of severe weather and tornado threat. This idea of a cool air wedge always protecting North Georgia is silly. It's still in the Deep South, which is known for severe weather.
  17. Nobody is covering the longlived TDS supercells in Central Alabama?
  18. PDS Tornado Watch issued until 11:00PM Central
  19. The storm over Madison County is rotating with large hail...
