Just asking, but do you think all the models are going to be blindsided with the pattern change and not catch it until it is within 3 days?

Not something as large scale as a pattern change. Potential storms are always a possibility but much less so these days.

That's fine, but no one wants to hear mumbling and grumbling and whining in this thread. There are other threads specifically for that. Plus we hear enough of that at home.

Some people just think they are exempt from the culture that’s been cultivated here

I would have agreed with your memory as we only got 4" of snow and sleet that evening but then hit the jackpot with the UL deformation band that sat on us all the following morning to pile on a very fast 8" of additional snow.  Too bad once the UL pulled out it, the temps shot up and melted most of it away that day.

The funny thing is, in fort mill, we ended up with most of our snow that first morning

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Euro handle the cold better early on for the last storm than the GFS?

I believe the euro did show the massive cold blast first when we had the new years snap but then again, after the performance of the GFS with the last event, I dont know we dont decommission it.

I Grew up in Walhalla and have lived in Clemson the last 15 years.  Even you guys have scored better storms than my back yard. It's really amazing.  I would venture to guess if you had a map that highlighted area's that haven't received 6 inches of snowfall in the last 25 years. There would be a tiny dot over Southern Pickens and Oconee counties, and then like no other area highlighted anywhere in the southeast. Even lookout has had >6 inch snowfalls.  Here are two examples of my biggest heartbreaks growing up. The second map is January 2nd, 2002. Also, the 2004 map is overdone for my backyard, I got exactly one inch from that one.

Wasn’t 1/23/2003 also projected to hit there before the last 24 hours?

I’m not complaining, figured we’d start as rain but also thought when I woke up at 6:3 we’d be all snow since it was a mix at 4. Once it flipped completely things went off, just in a patch of terrible flake size right now. Can’t “reasonably” complain about a non-bust just because of low end of the range totals, but it still stings because of the reasons why.  Reminds me of the start to that storm a few years ago when QueenCity racked up down in Ft Mill while you and I were sitting here in a minimum for the area due to dendrite growth over us sucking for far too long.

That was the 14 storm. It took forever for the column to get right that day.

Ratios are only going up from here so dont give up yet.

She told me pt drove in from an hour outside of midland. I’m guessing care couldn’t reach her? Who knows.

I took some training at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX. Not too far from Midland/Odessa in the Permian Basin. That is nowhere territory out there. Midland/Odessa is defined as the middle of nowhere. If that patient came from an hour away, where were they? Hell?

I want to say she came in from the south so yeah, probably the hinterlands.

tramadoc, I saw your diabetes post. My sister is in rounds to become a PA in Texas and about a month ago, someone came in her ER with a foot that had fallen off a leg due to diabetic gangrene. She asked my sister if she could keep it. LOL.

I'm just wondering how someone can get that far. The neuropathy associated with nerve death from hyperglycemia is excruciating. That had to take years of non-compliance.

    Classy response, Ashe.

My fellow Panthers fans didn't quite live up to the same standard in this little tete-a-tete above.

Brees is a class act. Congratulating all the Vikings after that heartbreaking loss he just experienced.

Anyway, go Vikes, I guess. That's who I'll be rooting for in the remainder of the playoffs.

I can’t forgive the saints for bountygate, their fans cheering cam’s injury last week, the overt racism I’ve seen from them in charlotte, etc. I don’t like the falcons but I at least halfway respect them.

Got my new Kamara jersey in the mail Thursday. Wearing it for the first time now. Bout to watch the Saints beat the Vikings on the road to the SuperBowl!!!!!

You tell your Vicodin thief of a coach, your inbred, racist(the only fan base I’ve ever heard use the n word is New Orleans)swamp trash fans that cheered Cam’s injury and that drowning city that glory is fleeting and hell will be paid next year.
