    Just about every short range model has some snow showers coming through Southern Person/Durham/North and Western Wake around 10PM.

    Euro has had first snow shower potential for two runs in a row now for much of the southern/western piedmont coming up on Tuesday.

    Just missed an I-40 winter storm this run on Day 11. It's when our indicies are all mostly peaked in our favor so it's possible it could have legs. -NAO, -AO, -EPO and a neutral PNA. If the indicies keep looking how they've looked, I think it could be our first real shot of the winter, somewhere around the 11-15th of the month.

    Tomorrow has a reasonably decent chance of being as cold as any day we saw all of last winter. I dont know if that is an endorsement of what it is to come this December or an indictment on how awful last year was for us.

    About as good as one can expect for the beginning of December. We'll see if it bears fruit.

    Didnt want to reupload the images over here but it's safe to say the OP euro was too amped if you believe the EPS.

    The 12z Euro OP is WAY inland compared to it's ensemble members by about 500 miles.

    12z GFSE has a massive +PNA, -NAO and neutral EPO according to the charts. It would seem like the charts peak in our favor around 12/3.

    I noted on our side of the mountains that the GFS is giving us our coldest early december stretch since 2000. The first 10 days could have some serious negative anomalies if this holds.

    The GFS starts off December with nine freeze days in a row. A marked change from last yr.

    Some fairly decent totals for the hills: Boone to Murphy 3-4" with higher totals in the ski areas. .5-1" totals in and around CLT.

    ICON has some borderline snow showers across the piedmont of NC/SC. Probably just eye candy but hey, not bad for 12/1.

    We're moving to NW Durham County(edge of the city) and hoping that makes a difference for us. I still remember that event a few years ago where you had snow at your house, I had sleet in Davidson and it was just raining in Huntersville.

    I took the dogs out and we definitely have seen it pick up.
