  1. On this date last year we hit 34, this morning our low was 74. 2nd day in a row with heat advisory, freeze advisories just 15 and 16 days ago.
  2. Still 80 degrees at nearly midnight. Heat index still over 90 at MLI and DVN as of 11pm.
  3. DVN ended up hitting 96, Sterling 97. Looks like a repeat on the way for tomorrow. Let's go for 100 lol
  4. The 70mph winds back on March 5th of this year is still the winner for this year, but this stretch of heat and humidity is extremely impressive.
  5. Another record at MLI today with at least 95. DVN hit at least 95, and hit 96 here. Peak index reached 105 here, and at least 103 at MLI. Today's 96 beat all of last year for here, the hottest it got last year here was 95 in August. What an extraordinary airmass.
  6. Heat index still 91 as of 10 pm up the river at Sterling. Pretty impressive for May 10th.
  7. Euro gets an F- after showing storm complex for 5 days tonight.
  8. Yeah feels like the dog days. Almost expect to hear the cicadas chattering out there lol
  9. Pretty impressive contrast in air masses across Iowa. Low 70s dews in central IA, with mid 30 degree dews up in northwestern IA.
  10. MLI tied a record high today with 93. Both here and DVN hit 92, with peak heat index temps 102 here and at MLI. One week ago today we had a high of only 51. and that was a midnight high lol.
  11. RGEM backed off on the heat a bit, now only showing 99 here for tomorrow.
  12. The Euro has been showing that for 4+ days. It's been amazingly consistent with showing convection dropping straight south out of WI through the DVN/LOT areas.
  13. Warmest day of the year so far at 86 here. Both MLI and DVN hit at least 88. Looks like 91-94 tomorrow with 98-103 peak heat indices.
  14. We're not going to be too far away from heat advisory conditions Tue/Wed. If we were to reach the HA threshold of 105 heat index, that would be pretty insane considering we had freeze advisories only about 2 weeks ago. Doubt a freeze advisory and a heat advisory have ever been within a few weeks of each other before for this area.
  15. I googled it. Now I'm gonna get constipation medication ads on fb for awhile lol.
  16. Yeah there's a huge area of relative humidity readings under 10%. The winner is Snyder with 102/-5 for 2% humidity lol. Just between Abilene and Dallas the dews go from the low 20s to the 70s.
  17. Temps down in central Texas are between 105-108 this afternoon. Seems pretty early for that. Dews in the 70s are up into southern OK already.
  18. Euro continues to show mid 70 dews both Tue and Wed. With temps near 90 we could conceivably see heat index temps AOA 100 both days. The pool of 4500-6000J/kg cape that sort of hangs around for both days is pretty insane for early-mid May. Usually don't see big pools of heavy cape like that until deeper into June. Incredible change on the way to say the least.
  19. 55 here today with very light rain all day, picked up 0.23". Glad this is the last day of this awful weather.
  20. Was just laughing as I was browsing through the Euro run from this morning. It has us only dropping to 73 for a low temp Tuesday morning. Almost seems unfathomable after all the cold. That's 21 degrees warmer than our high was today lol. Also has the first bigtime cape of the year around here Tuesday afternoon/eve.
  21. Haha our total during that same stretch is 9.76" lol. Ended up just under an inch total here, as high-efficient tropical drizzle/light rain fell most of the day.
  22. Euro shows highs near 90 Tue-Thu next week for a large portion of the sub, even up to Bo-ville. Quite the drastic change on the way it appears. Today it looks like we may stay AOB 50. Picked up 0.53" rain so far this morning.
  23. The cool thing is I've always wondered what it'd be like to live on Mt Washington. Now I know.
