  1. Verbatim the 12z Euro has the QC in the negative single digits below zero early Fri morning with 55mph winds and falling snow. That would put wind chills pushing -40. That combined with significant blowing snow in open country would likely make for extremely dangerous travel conditions to say the least.
  2. And if there's convection driven gravity waves that could also add even higher gust potential, ala Dec '87.
  3. Ahh just like the old days with the ol' northwest trend. Just need another 150 miles please lol.
  4. Picked up 0.3" of snow yesterday from the passing snow showers, up to 1.7" for the season. Down to 9 this morning here.
  5. Kuchera is overdone for this setup with the winds, so in this case the 10:1 maps will likely be more accurate.
  6. GFS is like some crappy opening band u gotta sit through before the main show.
  7. Which makes the amounts that accumulated with that all the more impressive. What a beast that storm was.
  8. East coast peeps aren't gonna like this particular run lol.
  9. Widespread 55-65mph winds simultaneous with the snowfall verbatim on the Euro. Sounds like a good time.
  10. Eastern Iowa/northern IL/southern WI reaction to this morning's Euro.
  11. Lots of passing snow showers and flurries today with a T. Wednesday night's snow brought us up to 1.4" for the season.
  12. Lol yeah. You could tell this really wasn't too far away from being a big event if timing was a little different.
  13. Tonight's 0.95" rain brings the two-day total to 2.15". Best soaker since September. Still snowing, but smaller flake size as of late combined with warm ground is slowing accumulation. Still dusting up on grassy/elevated surfaces though.
  14. Probably 80/20 snow/rain here with very large flakes. Big enough they are tripping the back security light.
  15. Nice, and you have a long night of precip to go as well, should do well there. Back edge of precip a few hours away from here, so may just get a quick dusting to perhaps a quick inch if it can rip hard enough. Just heard a long rumble of thunder. Guess that's the first thundersnow of the year lol.
  16. ^ Same here, mixing as well and down to 35.
  17. Down to 38 with steady rain continuing. Up to 0.73" for the evening. Should see snow mix in very shortly.
  18. Raining hard enough to hear it on the roof. Picked up 0.32" already this evening.
  19. Def can't rule it out. I'm guessing that's overdone but at the least should get a quick period of wet snow after 10 or 11pm. Moderate rain here now but still quite mild.
  20. This sub is like the wild west. The last sheriff got chased out of town lol.
