  1. That new line rolling into the tri-state area of IA/WI/IL means business. Quite a few wind damage reports have been rolling in, and now there's even a tor warning southwest of Dubuque. SPC meso page has been showing steep mid-level lapse rates feeding in from the west, and helping to very quickly rebuild any instability lost from the earlier MCS. Could get interesting down this was in the next hour or so.
  2. Temp made it to 94 a little earlier, but back to 77 now with gusty north outflow winds. Nice storm rolling in now.
  3. Yeah was puzzled that they weren't anticipating a new watch. The MCS is maintaining, and is only moving into a more favorable environment.
  4. The heat index is already over 100 degrees at 11am. Luckily the debris clouds from the Wisconsin MCS should keep things from getting too crazy today.
  5. Dewpoint at MLI is 81 currently. Pretty oppressive.
  6. Hit 95 at MLI, and also here. Dew is up to 79 at MLI atm. Highest heat index recorded here was 108. Got soaked running into work early this morning from a torrential downpour. The storms have been hit and miss, as we have yet to receive anything here today. EDIT: Today's temp at MLI is 128 degrees warmer than that -33 reading back in Jan. I actually just read that arctic outbreak thread a few days ago. Was a good way to cool off on a hot day lol.
  7. The dense canopy from the Iowa MCS kept temps fairly pleasant until mid afternoon when the canopy thinned. Temp have rebounded up to 88.
  8. Some pretty intense moisture convergence in southeast IA this evening. Washington with a dew of 81, and -35 at Fairfield. Fairfield reporting a relative humidity of 1%. Needless to say both of these sensors have crapped the bed and will hopefully get some attention soon. Washington's dew has been way erroneous for over a month and nothing has been done yet.
  9. 93 today here and at MLI, which is the warmest to date. Dews generally stayed below 70 so it didn't feel all that hot. Outflow has blown through recently and dropped us back into the upper 70s.
  10. Very nice display of building thunderheads in the southern sky the past hour or so. If I didn't have to mow immediately after work I would definitely been out time lapsing that. Hit 90 today here and at MLI. Only the 2nd 90 degree day of the year. EDIT: Looks like MLI hit 91
  11. East Iowa and north IL remaining idle, just as CAMS have been showing for days. We don't need the rain anyway so it's all good.
  12. ^ Alaska be like, eh we don't even screw with warnings up here.
  13. Pretty sweet vid. Around the 55 sec mark you can see a large chunk of tree floating in the air, and eventually crashes around the 1:02 mark. Around the 1:04 mark you can see a tree get uprooted on the right side of the vid, just after that large piece of tree lands.
  14. Speaking of snow, it's freakin' snowing on I-80 in Laramie WY right now lol. It's June 23rd.
  15. Haha! Woops. Well, the weather has been pretty chilly at times lately lol. Ended up with 0.60" from the early morning convection.
  16. Some heavy thunderstorms about to move into this area. Nice light snow to the south the last 15 mins.
  17. As a kid I absolutely loved DST. Most of us had to head home "when the street lights came on". In the summer that was around 9pm. Have fond memories of coming home late in the evening on hot summer days, and watching baseball in the cool A/C after a nice shower.
  18. Brought to you by Broyles. Needless to say, let's see what subsequent outlooks show by other forecasters.
  19. The Mississippi finally fell below flood stage in the QC (at Rock Island) after being over flood stage for over 3 months! That's insane to say the least. Beat the previous record for consecutive days over flood stage by over 50 days. Areas down south even more impressive. Nice graphic from DVN..
  20. 0.83" so far this evening. EDIT: 0.96" as of midnight.
  21. We'd be seeing some pretty good rippage if this was a winter system lol.
