  1. And in the past 15 minutes the pressure has quickly rebound 2mb back to 1013, with winds barely rustling. Pretty cool.
  2. Barometer has fallen from 1018 to 1011 in the last hour. Getting 40mph gusts on the back end of these rain showers.
  3. Nice soaker overnight/early this morning with lots of lightning and thunder, and the sound of rain thrashing the side of the house. Picked up 2.64". You don't see a point forecast like this very often lol. Winter storm watch out with a 98 forecast high temp in the meantime.
  4. Something tells me our 0.83" since July 31st will be a distant memory in the near future. Some pretty beefy amounts forecast by many of the models.
  5. CR the happening place to be for sure. Hope it can continue this winter and deliver a good footer there (and surrounding areas too of course lol).
  6. Temp made it down to 43 this morning here.
  7. 12z Euro had Denver at 95 degrees at 21z Mon, and snowing at 37 degrees by 12z Tue, just 15hrs later. Incredible. On top of that 6-12" of snow falls (kuchera method). That would def be something to experience. EDIT: Warm ground/sun angle issues?
  8. That pic reminds me of the movie The Burbs with Tom Hanks. Next door neighbor had basically no grass, and had that extreme contrast going from Hank's yard to that one.
  9. Looks refreshing. 00z Euro has the QC at 91 at 21z Monday, and at 58 at 21z Tue. They've already harvested some of the corn fields around here. Earliest I can remember.
  10. The GFS has much of Iowa in the middle 40s in the early afternoon a week from today. That would be pretty insane.
  11. MLI snuck in another 90 today. Hit 87 here.
  12. 00z Euro has wet snow mixing in near Sioux Falls SD early Tue morning, with a pretty significant snowstorm for much of Colorado and far western NE. Insert Ned Stark meme here.
  13. On the plus side the dandelions appear to be thriving.
  14. They at least could have hoisted a windshield wiper advisory.
  15. Off to a fast start for September, picked up 0.02" of rain this afternoon.
  16. Welcome to autumn! Met fall means more to me than astro fall, so AFAIA concerned summer is ova!
  17. Just had about 25 seconds worth of large rain drops sprinkling down from the heavens. It shall rank as the #2 event of August, behind the derecho of course.
  18. Extremely impressive vids. The aftermath videos showing huge amounts of tree debris in front of literally every residence is amazing as well. These vids were shot on Pine Wood Drive NE in northern Cedar Rapids, pretty close to Hiawatha. The church losing it's roof is River of Life Church. Church viewed from the northwest side.
  19. Pretty sweet sunrise out back this morning. Won't be mowing for awhile though.
  20. Looks like MLI will finish August with a paltry 0.14" of rain. 0.72" here. Definitely starting to look like Yuma Arizona out there.
  21. Dew has dipped under 50 a few times this afternoon. Feels great.
  22. Same here, last flakes fell on May 10th, which is the latest I can remember for here since I've been alive. You guys have a good shot at getting some flakes from the lakes early on, so chances of early flakes there def are better than here. We always need to get lucky and get some sort of early season event, or a big lakes storm with a large backlash of snow flurries. The early season backlash flurries are almost always modeled too far south in the mid-range, only to pull further to the north/east as the event gets closer.
  23. This time last year we were only 2 months away from tracking what would be a pretty nice early season snow event.
