Got up to 93 here and at MLI today. Got a decaying band of thunder sprinkles moving in from the nose of Iowa. Hoping for some late night thunder/heavy rain but if the stuff that forms remains elevated and doesn't form a cold pool it would likely move more eastward than southeast. Guess we'll see.

59 early this morning but already back up to 82. Dews still pretty meager in the mid 50s. Looking forward to Iowa sloppy seconds later tonight. Must be a hell of a crop of cottonwood seeds this year. Just cleaned off the AC condenser fins and they were pretty caked up with them.

Got down to 56 here, and currently the dew is 46. Not too shabby for mid June. My jaw almost came out of it's sockets this morning when I saw we were included in a slight risk for tomorrow.

86 so far here, but dews in the mid 50s so not bad out there. Gonna be laying a lot of rock down tomorrow out in front of the house so glad the dews will be quite low for mid June.

Dipped way down to 55 this morning, but made it back to 90 this afternoon. MLI tagged 93.

Nice thunderheads way off in the eastern sky, dews starting to decline here after being in the low 70s all day. Next rain chance a week plus out.

The 12z Euro has dews in the low to mid 20s in parts of northern IL next Wed afternoon. Don't think I've ever seen dews that low in IL in met summer. That would be extremely hard to do with evapotranspiration kicking in hard during mid to late June.

2 weeks ago today on May 28th the high was 48 degrees. Seems completely unfathomable after the past few days with mid 90s and heat indices over 100 degrees.

95 today at MLI and also here, which is the hottest so far this year at both locations. Sterling hit 96. Picked up 0.04" of light anvil rain. Nice to hear thunder again at least. Also cooled down 20 degrees from earlier.

MLI hit 94 today for their hottest to date, hit 93 here which is also the toastiest to date.

Almost 4" of rain fell near Mount Carroll late last evening from some very slow moving cells. Looks like our first mid 90s tomorrow and maybe Sat. Last night's Euro shows widespread 103+ over Iowa next Thursday.

This time last year the COVID thread dominated the sub, this year it appears the drought thread will dominate lol. Next year it will probably be a UFO thread.

In the past RFD did really well when drought conditions were present. I remember back in 2012 they were one of the hottest spots in IL till they finally got some rain and then other places like MLI and ORD were hotter again. As for LAF they seem pretty erroneous compared to surrounding sites on a consistent basis. Hottest day of the year so far here at 92, MLI/DVN languished at only 91/88 respectively.
