  1. Yeah I would say it was over two at my parents place. They are right near the bay. Rare south shore jackpot
  2. Flurries on the uws. Looks like a little ocean effect snow right now on the east end with the return flow
  3. Finally got home to see what I got, first at my old house in wantagh there appeared to be a decent amount more snow then both the city and my new place in Lynbrook. Further analyzing the snow there was very little base crusty layer in wantagh which means as I suspected it all fell with the overnight batch with cooler temps. I could see it having been over 2” before melting and compaction yesterday
  4. I was snowing at 8am. I’m also 3 miles Nw of the park at 200’. I can clearly see NJ from campus across the Hudson so it’s a nice spot for snow nyc wise
  5. Remember there are different parts of the city. It snowed by me on the far uws the whole day other then a couple periods of drizzle. From some reason the LGA area into central queens had a stronger heat island the all but maybe midtown
  6. LGA makes sense being right on the sound with a northerly flow. JFK maybe not
  7. Wow the park got it right!!! Their measurements match mine at 120th and broadway. Good start to the season!
  8. Nice, so not a complete bust. I wonder if wantagh did any better
  9. Hey neighbor I’m stuck at work on the uws said what did we get in lynbrook/malverne? .5” Part one 1.5” part two
  10. I said 2-8” because of the bust potential and got 2”. Not bragging just saying it was always there
  11. Snow globe right now with perfect dendrites falling. You can clearly see each flake. Did not last long but left another dusting
  12. Still snowing in NYC, which should be good for you guys. Only managed 2” here
  13. Just started snowing again on the uws after I finally finished the cleanup and put the tractors away. What this storm lacked in intensity in the city it will be memorable for duration
  14. Still snowing lightly on the uws. Only picked up about .5” new for a total of 2.0”. It will be interesting to see if there is anything left of the western band when it pivots through
  15. Still just light snow on the uws dropped another coating. Looks like Nassau has done well the last two hours
  16. Still just light snow on the uws, it’s the band over ct that may finally get the city. The last one went INto Nassau
  17. I have been on the clock since 6am, no shifts at all just be here if it’s snowing and not stop
  18. Light snow starting to accumulate again on the uws. Looks like I will not be going home anytime soon.
  19. Radar looks like we are starting to see some consolidation in banding. If we do not reach moderate levels it’s not going to cut it in the city. UHI doing its thing right now
  20. Light misty drizzle falling on the uws. Looks like we are going to need good banding even at night to cut it in the city. And again, I had 1.5” here today
  21. We are going to have to pull an elephant out of a hat to make this one work. What your seeing on radar is deceiving. That’s not snow out there over the ocean and that’s why reflectivity is so high. Once it moves north and transitions to snow it equates to lower rates. I’m not saying it can’t happen, it’s tuff. .5” round one 1.5” round two uws
  22. Dry air seems to be a problem now too, ground truth isn’t matching the radar. It’s still possible we pull a miracle like with the third March storm in 2018, I had 14” at home from one tiny band
  23. Rates dropped of big time on the uws the last 30 min. We were doing well for a while I’m going to go measure now
  24. Far far far from white rain at 120th and Broadway. About an inch so far and snowing consistently moderate to at times close to heavy
  25. That bands looking more and more like an inverted trough. Whatever it is, it’s awesome and it’s dumping on the uws. Nice to be in the jackpot area of one of these fonally
