  1. CLE optimistic for next week HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO NUDGE SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA BY SUNDAY MORNING FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT WILL MOVE EAST OUT OF THE PLAINS STATES INTO THE OHIO VALLEY ON MONDAY. IF MODELS PLAY OUT AS THEY ARE SAYING...THIS STORM SYSTEM COULD BE A MAJOR SNOW MAKER FOR THE FORECAST AREA. AS ALWAYS...SNOW AMOUNTS ARE DEPENDENT ON TRACK OF THE STORM SYSTEM SO WE WILL BE WATCHING THIS ONE CLOSELY.
  2. Seems high, but it would be nice to get an overachiever (relative to expectations). Radar looked good earlier this morning, but everything slid south. Hopefully it's our turn tomorrow.
  3. With all the talk in other threads about a mild period I was hoping that would help melt some lake ice. Unfortunately, doesn't look like we'll be all that mild.
  4. 3.5" of new snow. Very wet snow. Still snowing lightly.
  5. Looks like cle did up the totals. 3-5" according to the latest map. Interesting bit about lake ice ; THE WESTERN THIRD OF LAKE ERIE...FROM THE EASTERN SHORE OF MICHIGAN TO ABOUT AVON POINT...OHIO...IS MOSTLY ICE COVERED. A THIN STRIP OF ICE HAS ALSO BEGUN TO FORM JUST A FEW MILES OFFSHORE OF THE SOUTHERN SHORELINE TOWARDS THE BUFFALO END OF THE LAKE.
  6. Ya seems like a decent call. Some hi res models bring more qpf (.4+). We might have low ratios though.
  7. Looks like another 1/2" fell after I left this morning. Going to go with a 4.25" total on the day. Currently snowing lightly in a razor thin band. On another note, I am 10" behind in snow compared to this time last year. I thought it would be more, but Nov really helped.
  8. Sounds right. Yep very difficult to measure. Maybe this last band will push us to 4"
  9. Had just under an inch of new snow from yesterday evening to this morning. Looks like Cle is combining the clipper and a little lake effect into a lake effect advisory for 4-8". I'd be thrilled with the bottom total lol.
  10. Funny we may get more snow from the upcoming clipper than the les event. Unless there's still les taint in the Nam maps, looks like possibly 4" or so.
  11. Ya I figured it was rare. Was just noticing how intense those huron bands seem to look. Ah yes, I see it now!
  12. Have we ever had a Huron connection from due north that set up on the east side?
  13. Any possibility the bands quit moving around so much, or are the winds shifting too much? There's a clipper for tomorrow night also isn't there?
  14. You're actually within a mile or so. I'll go with the lower end. That band was moving at a good clip once it came inland.
  15. I came up with 3 -3.5" in several spots. Seems high...I'm wondering if there's some blown snow mixed in.
  16. Ya I checked the wrfs earlier and didn't see much meaningful. I'm still holding out hope for a decent event before more of the lake freezes..
  17. Great writeup. Should be an exciting few days to get a decent snowpack going. More chances at the end of the week it looks like too.
  18. Lake effect snow watch for geauga. Totals over 8" possible. Also noticed the yellow area got moved a little further north since that map was posted.
  19. That sounds good, hopefully still a good event. Cle does seem optimistic. I tried measuring and got around 2.5". Alot of wind whipped areas and drifting make it tough.
  20. I hope so. Weds was looking like the best setup we have had in a while.
  21. Ya we look to be on the southern edge right now. Hopefully we can hang on. I'm surprised cuy isn't under an advisory. The wed- Thurs event looks interesting. Hopefully we can hold off or minimize any ice forming ...
  22. Been snowing pretty good this morning. Nice band set up out to the west side. Hard to measure with the wind, but I'd guess 2" unofficially.
  23. Temp dropped to 32 in a hurry. Mod snow right now
  24. Should be an exciting week! With the clipper looking to slide south, hopefully we cash in on good le.
