  1. Heavy snow continuing and the radar appears to be firing up again west of Frederick headed this way. NAM HRRR and HERPDYDERP may very well verify north and NE of 70
  2. There is a heavy snow swath that currently spans from Harrisonburg VA to NW NJ. Impressive moisture feed going on. It rarely happens, but sometimes… just sometimes… these boundary setups break our way and we end up JUST on the right side of the fall line, which is where heaviest precip tends to fall. Playing out as well as we could have asked for considering we lost the phasing threat days ago and we’re relying entirely on a jet feature. Said it earlier on… if the metros managed to flip to snow fairly early on, places along and north of 70 are likely going to boom - especially higher elevations. Time to go out for a jebwalk!
  3. Yessir. NAM did a good job yesterday showing 2 potential precip max stripes - one near 95 and one further NW. Seems like it ended up being moreso in Maryland than Staunton and the northern blue ridge, but so far, it’s done a pretty damn good job handling the overall setup. I’m certainly happy up this way so far. Looks like we’ve got plenty to go too.
  4. I will say this… despite not getting the region wide KU we all yearn for, I have seen some impressively heavy snow fall this winter. On multiple occasions. Even if the duration was fairly short lived. HEAVY snow right now. The band doesn’t appear to be moving very quickly either
  5. Wow. Just wow. So glad I stayed up for this. White out conditions under that band
  6. Whew… flake size has ballooned in the past 2 minutes. Here comes the rippage
  7. Bright yellows currently about 5-10 miles to my west. Patiently waiting. Impressive snow occurring regardless but come to papa
  8. Heavy snow, sticking to all surfaces - we’re definitely getting to 2-3” here at the carroll / Frederick county border, I have zero doubt.
  9. Based on the radar, the NAM definitely nailed the 1 AM firehose of heavy precipitation from N VA into Maryland and southern PA. Pretty spot on honestly. Doesn’t look far off from what the HRDRPS and HRRR have been saying the last 24 hours either. GFS definitely appears to have been owned by mesos this go around.
  10. About to get banded any moment per radar. Going to be a fun next few hours for the northern shen valley over to Frederick, Carroll, northern Baltimore, and Hartford counties
  11. Last few frames on the radar you can see the rain snow line getting battered between silver spring, Columbia, and west Baltimore. Temps dropping hard as heavier returns roll in. Impressive. NAM doing a better job with this so far than the GFS. Heavy precip setting up shop right over Maryland and it nailed how far north snow would fall
  12. It’s really picked up in the past few minutes here in Union bridge. Radar looks great honestly.
  13. So far, as far as where the jet is setting up and precip is blossoming, yesterdays bullish NAM run looks pretty spot on so far
  14. Changeover was awfully quick once that heavier band got overhead. Dusting already commencing
  15. Can already kinda tell where the two best areas of precip will be. One qpf jack along the metro corridor and another near the blue ridge. Looks like Berkeley springs up to Everett are getting in some goods right now
