  1. Sinking air to the east as a result of of intense rising air to your west. The storm’s location never allowed for the bands to pivot east. No worries. Well all hopefully cash in this weekend!!
  2. This is INSANE to me. I 70 was like a brick wall. Reports of 10-12” all around ec, Columbia, etc And reports of 4-6” in NW Baltimore county. What a crazy gradient.
  3. Ellicott City here as well near 108. Confirmed 11.25” of snow
  4. Normal that people right outside intense bands see flurries as it dumps a few miles away. Intense lifting means sinking air outside the band. What may look like a snowy radar may produce not much in reality. We got lucky here in HoCo and MoCo. 11”
  5. 70 is definitely the cut off. Glad I live south of it for once lol! PS- that death band is STILL moving north, not ESE... wtf is going on?! More bands blossoming to our south and heading this way as well. This thing eventually has to rotate out, which means that band could come back overhead
  6. You’re likely over 9 now with this band. Columbia EC Clarksburg are getting hammered
  7. The band overhead literally has not moved. 1.75” in the past hour and 10 mins. Holy COW!!
  8. SN+ - if this can last until 8 pm we easily cross double digit threshold
  9. Can confirm the death band. moco to HoCo getting womped on right now. It’s snowing so hard out there.
  10. Wow. That MOCO band finally made it here. Dumping snow.
  11. 7.5” heavy snow. Coastal is getting its act together no doubt
  12. Incoming Columbia and Ellicott City. That band means business.
  13. I’m in that damn band thank you very much
  14. The coastal is helping for sure. Pivot is in effect and so is radar blossoming
  15. Anything over 6”, a WSW Verification, was all I needed to see to be happy. Especially from a. WAA event. I will take another 1-2” if that band sets up shop for us. Funny that the dark sky app was the first to forecast 4-8” 2 days ago and was spot on. It has 4-8” for Saturday into Sunday, so maybe it’ll be right about that too LOL! Glad many of us did decently with this storm. Nice way to kick off the pattern before the parade of big boys start coming through starting next weekend! Steady light snow falling currently at work in Columbia (we opened at noon and didn’t close) it is a lovely scene out there indeed.
  16. The last frame of the radar has precip filling back in a bit and perhaps pivoting a bit too. So close to turning the snow machine back on! Come on ULL!!
  17. Half a foot ain’t too shabby! Hopefully we can get another few inches out of this coastal or the passing ULL. SREF GFS NAM show another 2-5”
  18. Solid early morning jebwalk... It’s so quiet you can hear the snow falling. Plows are starting to come out as well. 6-10 am is going to be wild.
  19. Dc on the southern plank of that as well. Could be an amazing scene from late morning through this afternoon
