  1. And we’ve got rippage! Visibility dropping, temp down 2.5 degrees since snow began. Go time!
  2. Herp has been extremely consistent. DC to BAL rejoice this 6z run! Wow
  3. Anyone have a solid radar they recommend for rain / snow line? Still think places well inland from the major metros hang onto sleet / ice for a solid 4-6 hour period. 4-8” is a good call for the western burbs. 8” by skinsfan, 5-6” for myself and Bobchill in MoCo/HoCo and 3-4” near the metros
  4. Snow falling in west Ellicott City near manor hill brewery
  5. Huge swath of 6+ for DC Baltimore and essentially all of Maryland and NoVa On the latest HRDPS.
  6. Good loooord. the HERPDERP really is the gift that keeps on giving. #pounded
  7. AA hoCo moCo schools are closed for all of my fellow parents and teachers etc. 18z looks juiced. All I cared to look for at this point. Dynamics (placement of bands highest qpf totals and changeover times) are all subject to tiny changes in each model. Not smart to put stock into any one model for this reason. Looking good for an area wide 3-6” dump before we slopfest and then hopefully we dry slot before much rain can fall with a track to our NW. 8” definitely attainable in Climo favored areas (congrats Westminster) Currently at 32 degrees with a dew point of 8
  8. By the way... fellow HoCo residents... that band to our north is about to pivot ESE toward the ocean. Snow is picking back up. Again. Need 0.5” to hit a foot.
  9. Everything shifted north, as myself and many others warned could happen with this setup. Stinks for that area. Not complaining here in MD however.
  10. Sinking air to the east as a result of of intense rising air to your west. The storm’s location never allowed for the bands to pivot east. No worries. Well all hopefully cash in this weekend!!
  11. This is INSANE to me. I 70 was like a brick wall. Reports of 10-12” all around ec, Columbia, etc And reports of 4-6” in NW Baltimore county. What a crazy gradient.
  12. Ellicott City here as well near 108. Confirmed 11.25” of snow
  13. Normal that people right outside intense bands see flurries as it dumps a few miles away. Intense lifting means sinking air outside the band. What may look like a snowy radar may produce not much in reality. We got lucky here in HoCo and MoCo. 11”
  14. 70 is definitely the cut off. Glad I live south of it for once lol! PS- that death band is STILL moving north, not ESE... wtf is going on?! More bands blossoming to our south and heading this way as well. This thing eventually has to rotate out, which means that band could come back overhead
  15. You’re likely over 9 now with this band. Columbia EC Clarksburg are getting hammered
  16. The band overhead literally has not moved. 1.75” in the past hour and 10 mins. Holy COW!!
  17. SN+ - if this can last until 8 pm we easily cross double digit threshold
  18. Can confirm the death band. moco to HoCo getting womped on right now. It’s snowing so hard out there.
  19. Wow. That MOCO band finally made it here. Dumping snow.
