I'm sure there's a 25 year old Rutgers grad who can do it....wait a sec....
-
Why not. Could be warm enough soon.

Any thoughts on the crisis at NOAA and how this will affect forecasts?
-
it does indeed. many thanks.

Indeed, we had an impressive blizzard in Jan, dumped a ton of snow on Cape Cod and a foot or more elsewhere in the region. The good ole days.....
-
Looking back over the years, we do tend to get these sleet events around this time of the year though. FWIW.

I'm actually loving this recent warmup. It's been so cold my skin is like sandpaper and my sump pump is still frozen, probably will be till June. This morning's walk was nice. Felt springlike.

The immediate suburbs usually turn pretty quickly too. Rather sleet than slop, but nothing to be done about it. If it ain't a decent snow my only other concern is my loved ones who have to drive; sleet is deceptive.

Feb 6…. Not a lucky day in these parts. Strange, my daughter brought home a friend she hadn’t seen since 2/7/10 when they were little kids and we drove to the Camden aquarium to see the drifts, I mean , the fish….he is 22 now.

I've seen 4 washed away if it rained steady enough. But I'll take anything this year. Snow to rain, sleet, you name it. Course I don't want my daughter driving to work in it.....
-
Well my sump pump pipe has still not thawed out.

I don't put much stock in this kind of stuff, but if its going to happen, Feb is the time for it, generally speaking.

Never saw a flake; just some light sleet. And that's when I learned that for my area, never expect a big one in March. Hasn't happened in my liftetime; however, you can get decent storms of 6-10 inches. Which is about the most this old guy can handle anyway. My friend just drove out to MI; there was a lot of snow cover through OH.

Wonder if all the salt dust affects people's breathing or asthma/COPD.

We have realistically about a month and change. There's time, but not a lot. Never is.

The cracked fingers are making my wife miserable; I've been using corticosteroids on mine, with some success.

The weather sucks and its like living in Mongolia I guess. My skin is dry as hell and bleeding. I am more than ready for a milder pattern. It's obvious we're not getting the snow; any time I've seen the South get a lot of snow, it's usually meant not much for us. Anything can happen I guess, but I am fed up with this cold pattern. A dirty warm up and rain is preferable to this. Left a case of water in the car that I forgot about, it's frozen solid. Not even Anthony has much to track.

I remember Forky writing: this is a storm for the ages. I went out and bought gas for the snowblower. It was very warm that Dec and after that I think we had one piddly event. Saw nothing decent in my area until late March 2018; was fringed in the bomb cyclone, the 2017 March storm, and the two Early March 2018 storms.

The vast majority of people hate it. I’ve been hearing nothing but complaints over the recent snow.

I do remember that lightning; I was standing in the garage at my parents home when it happened. I was 19. It was the last year I had a full head of hair. And in all this time, there is still no treatment that can restore one's hair, no matter what anyone tells you. That's a PSA for any of you who might get sucked in by plugs, rugs, or drugs....

We're gonna have to nickel and dime it this year I'm afraid; but one good storm ( IMO 8 in or above ) can help a lot. While Metuchen measured 3.75 nearby me, I only saw about 2 on the grass and driveway; the cartops had around 3. Odd, I guess the warmer ground ate up a lot of early snow.
