  1. Actually if you look at some of the maps, there's a little hole where it rains early in easters Middlesex County. That's my house. And I believe it, cause I always have a little less than areas nearby.
  2. Yeah I hope so, wanna see of the new snowblower can handle sleet ( it can ).
  3. How long do you think the sleet holds on? I'm hearing conflicting things.
  4. Moderate snow just to the east of him; coming down but not ripping yet.
  5. i don't think we're gonna make it to 2. We lost too much time overnight. My expectations were low to begin with. If the sleet holds on we may get up to 2 that way, but it could change quicker. Hard for people to make work or school plans in these types of events. If they end up like Nov you're screwed. I am lucky to not have to drive in this.
  6. My friend is there. Don't know if it changed back; he 's in the office by now. Said it was pelting then went to a light drizzle. May very well have changed back. Need an update from Mercer county.
  7. Meh. we have the days built in and as the super put it, winter is almost over. If this had been an active winter, they would have waited till morning and when nothing had happened we would have come in. And it doesn't look like an early dismissal would be on the table either, as it just isn't doing enough to warrant one.
  8. I'm only concerned about my son and wife who have to commute today. I'm home from school. If I don't have to shovel, even better.
  9. A friend is reporting light rain in Princeton area after brief sleet.
  10. I’ll put up the snorkel before heading out. I went to catholic school in the 70s so yeah I’ve been slapped around and hit with yardsticks too
  11. I don't think the snow is the worry. It's the sleet. Surprised Rutgers New brunswick went with the delay; Newark campus closed, but then, different forecast areas at NWS.
  12. That's kinda what I was getting at....if people want to make predictions that's fine. But when the storm is under way and I'm in subsidence or it is raining already I don't need people to tell me I'm wrong, or that I shouldn't believe " my lyin eyes."
  13. Where did I say that? I'm talking about previous nowcasting events, where it was not doing what people were telling me it's doing. I can see for myself what it is doing outside. I made no mention of a forecast of my own. I don't do those. I leave it to the experts. And even they don't get it right sometimes.
  14. I was thinking of a couple storms last year, both the Jan one and one of the March ones where it clearly wasn't gonna be as big as advertised in IMBY but people kept telling me that it's coming or I'm not measuring right. I know the difference between 3-4 inches and 12 inches.
  15. Could be. Seen it both ways prolonged sleet and quick rain
  16. Well mine are closed Rutgers Newark is closed New Brunswick delayed
  17. No but we will see sleet and that’s bad enough
  18. Our schools already closed. If there's nothing to shovel, oh well.
  19. I think you're right; none of the local pros are dismissing this as nothing. So it isn't an historic blizzard, we get that, but it is still an impactful storm that can create dangerous conditions. Prolonged sleet can be a serious hazard. What bothers me is I'm getting conflicted info on start times, with local mets saying as early as 2 am and folks here saying 7-10 am. That's quite a spread.
  20. In the March 2017 event they stated something to the effect that they don’t like to downplay amounts if sleet is involved as it is just as bad for driving
