Yes but they were smaller and a little more vicious than usual.....lots of ice and severe sleet along with snow and rain. Imagine 4-5 inches of sleet infused with rain, that's how the last storm of 94 in March played out.
Yeah we didn't see the second one down here, but that first one was the biggest I saw in my life at the time, I was 15.....wouldn't see one like that again til 83, and not again til 96. They were rare events.
Feb 2003, Feb,. 2006,Dec 2010, Jan 2011, Jan 2016....more times than the 70's. 80's and 90's combined....so it does happen even in my local snow hole....in addition, we had near misses in Jan 2015 and Feb 2013 and March 2017 and 2018...
I remember a Thanksgiving storm when I was a kid.....wonder if that one happened in the metro as well? Also remember one on the road to Indiana around the same time...
Get him and Pulisic on the same page and drop the current coach, and dump the old timers, and i think the US team will be back on track after a few dismal years.
off topic, have you seen that kid Dest from Holland who chose the USA team? I love it, but the kid really could have played for Oranj, and maybe won an actual WC....
There are plenty of jobs out there that offer no serious benefits, lots of "contract' work. I get emails daily from agencies who want me to do in home therapy as a "consultant" this is not a bad gig for a retiree who wants to keep active, but it is not a good job for a young person with a masters or even doctorate with student loans and no health insurance....
Yeah I'm telling young people who want to work as teachers and whatnot to go to NY. NJ has no respect for public employees; their pensions have been stolen and they are paying through the nose for health coverage ( 12k a year just for me ).
Glancing at the Rutgers radar it appears we are approaching the end over here in Middlesex County. A bit of a disappointment out here but again, not at all out of character. Just wasn't a big enough storm to blanket everyone.
You can do both, except meteorology is probably a credit intensive major. There are too many of those these days. That said, i work in mental health and it is an endlessly fascinating field. The best is when you see people come to grips with some serious issues or trauma and then move on to become productive members of society. There are many types of pros working in this field today, lots of opportunity.
Yeah, nothing you can do. Be nice to have a storm of 8-9 inches here again, have not seen one for a few years; most have topped out at 3-6, and many at 2-4. Seems I either get the odd 30 incher or I get 4 inches. Normal "MECS" just don't occur IMB lately. We got a long way to go, thought the usual suspects are already saying it will be bad conditions for snow this year, again...
