  1. Lol. Last obs from msp heavy snow .25 vis
  2. The models have been very steady the pass few days with 5-7 across the city. I get the hesitation because of the time of the year with surface temps but the radar looks great for them. It looks like the snow is having no issue sticking
  3. @CoastalWx msp crush job currently! They just got upgraded to a winter storm warning for 5-7. If you believe the euro they aren’t close to done this month either
  4. Updated forecast for MSP is 5-7. Would be closer to their biggest October snowfall of all time.
  5. Foliage really starting to pop now around my area. With the recent cool nights and warm days it has helped the process. It’s been a wet summer so the colors are popping this year.
  6. Yeah, very uncommon to have all that warm water off the west coast in a strong Niña. This can change quickly with wind shifts but if it stays he could help this winter from being snowless.
  7. It’s October so I don’t expect some perfect snow pattern lol. Perhaps when the mjo moves into 7/8 we see more of a colder pattern to start November. As of now, just a typical Niña pattern. I do think it’s a good sign to see Canada cold and warm waters off the west coast.
  8. Until further notice it looks mild here with winter in the upper Midwest. The good news is Canada looks cold so hopefully it builds a base there.
  9. Euro very mild at the end of the week while the upper midwest experiences winter
  10. Going to be a early start to a big winter in the upper Midwest. MSP is forecasting its first accumulating snow of the winter tomorrow. As long as Canada isn’t flooded with pac air(aka last January) they will have a big winter in Chicago, msp, and Wisconsin.
  11. This month is a lock now to finish above avg. below avg October’s don’t happen anymore
  12. Exactly. Plus my expectations are so low for this winter that any snowfall would make me happy. We have had really cold patterns/snowfall The last few November’s and it really has meant nothing for the coming winter. I have no scientific proof that it means anything but I would prefer a warm fall.
  13. Yep, looks like a nice stretch of winter weather for the upper Midwest. Minnesota should have a big winter again this year. I have no use for a cold pattern for us. It’s just a waste, save it for December
  14. 44 currently with a dp of 36. Should make it into the 30’s for the first time this fall
  15. The Niña looks like it will be strong this year but the warm waters off the west coast could really help us this winter.
  16. Huh? Your area and LI should do well tonight. Radar looks solid for a rainy night
  17. Ninas favor mjo phase 2-5 because of where the warm waters are. I don’t think we will get much help this year from the mjo. The one positive is how warm the waters are off the west coast. That’s not a typical strong Niña look.
