    It’s the coldest time of the year so it would need to be an impressive sustainable cold outbreak. The other issue will be how torched Canada will be the next two weeks

    The month won’t be very torchy imo. But there is a chance if the southeast ridge goes crazy at the end of the month

    January will be lots of back and forth with very little snow along the east coast if this is true

    We just broke all types of records for longest stretches without meaningful rainfall

    Which might mean more of the same as Dec with cold/dry after cutters into the lakes. Never like seeing a trough in the sw as it has trended stronger over time every winter Makes sense with the mjo convection in different phases to start January. Going to need a clean pass in phase 8 to get anything on the east coast

    It amazes me how this model continues to be looked at by Mets and hobbyists. It’s a huge waste of time outside 24 hours. @bluewave is their any plan to discontinue this model?

    Best shot for the coast is a period of light snow early Saturday morning from the decaying Ivt. It won’t be much of anything to write home about

    Great surprise! It was one of only 2 weeks we got winter weather last winter

    Flooding North America with pac air. Going to take some time to flush that airmass out if/when the pac improves. So reminiscent of the crap winters we have had recently
