  1. That low north of Japan weakens which helps push the -epo domain east.
  2. Looks like between the 1-5th we get a decent cold shot as the pna lifts out. Perhaps that’s the period to look towards on something more wintry. Unfortunately, the -pna builds back again after that
  3. Yup. It spreads deeper into 7 but probably not enough to reshuffle the pac. I dont see io or 3/4 a anytime soon with the substance.
  4. Agree. I have been reading his posts for 10+ years now and they’re harmless
  5. I just hope we don’t see the pna relax only to see the nao fade at the same time. It’s just seems the last few days the guidance has kicked the can with easing the pna. They have trended strong with the pna/southeast ridge and any changes still stuck at 300 hours
  6. The pattern is just stuck from the end of December into early January. Seattle and Montana are going to be icicles as the tpv moves over head
  7. Ha. Look for some snow down on the vegas strip in this pattern
  8. Gives you 4-6 this run…no cold air
  9. Wrong. I said a period of light snow and not the blizzard of 96.
  10. Looks like some light snow is possible early Christmas Eve morning on all the models currently
  11. The typhoon really slowed the progression of the mjo. Probably won’t be until the new year we get into p7. Hopefully we can get a pac reshuffle but the ensembles have definitely been can kicking it
  12. Biggest negative departure at the park yesterday with -6.9
  13. Looks good for most of January. Even though blocking breaks down the pv lobe sits near Hudson Bay. By February (way out in time) we go back to the Niña look we have now
  14. 19 was the low overnight here
  15. You just can’t have the pna so negative. A weak pna would have made a huge difference in this current pattern
  16. Coldest night of the season coming tonight with teens and 20’s for lows
