This winter would have sucked back in 1852. The hostile pac and southeast ridge working in tandem with unfavorable mjo was a death sentence.

All I’m saying is that 13/14 had a chance to beat 95/96 if it didn’t shut off in March. It was our last true DJF winter imo

The climate argument is irrelevant in this discussion. The point is that it’s not unfathomable to get into a 6 week stretch like Bos did in 2015. It’s obviously would take luck but that’s what is needed to make a good pattern special
