  1. Ready or not here it comes. The leading edge is probably not reaching the ground.
  2. If you look closely I’m still in the blue area. We’re almost into now casting time. Looking at all these models is giving me a headache. Beautiful blue skies here, it’s hard to believe 12 hours from now we could be getting heavy snow. Up to 14 degrees.
  3. We saw this coming. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 5 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Oneida, Onondaga, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland and Tioga counties. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow starts this evening, then changes to a mix late tonight, then back to snow Monday morning.
  4. What kills me is it shows Ithaca getting about 14 inches and Syracuse less than 9. Matt?
  5. Tim, why don’t you include the model and the time period when you post maps?
  6. Nice front end thump for CNY on the 6Z GFS. Snow starts around 2-3Z and shows basically 3 inches by 6Z then 6 inches by12Z. It then nickel and dimes us for another 24 hours and we end up with about 9 inches.
  7. Looks like we hit our low right at midnight at -9. Already it’s back up to -6 heading to a temperature above freezing Monday morning.
  8. If you read his write up this was based on information as of 11 PM so I get the feeling he was heavily influenced by the 0Z NAM. There are still enough difference in the models that we can’t be certain what’s going to happen, especially here in CNY. It will be interesting to see what the models bring tomorrow but I’m actually intrigued to see how this storm plays out.
  9. Blue skies moving in from the north as the arctic air presses southward.
  10. People are ice fishing out there, they can drill a hole for him.
  11. Or a loss for Pennsylvania, lol! I know you’ll keep an eye on the radar because this storm will be moving north from Pennsylvania Sunday night.
