  1. This last band just to my west will likely sit on top of us for awhile, as it pivots over the top. Roads are a nightmare over here, with several inches down.
  2. I feel pretty good about a solid advisory event from rte 47 west to Iowa. Closer we creep into the UHI and onshore flow it becomes pretty dicey
  3. Stop by Dunedin and see Baldwin Street. There is also a penguin reserve there where you basically walk through trenches into little "pillboxes" and are able to see them in their natural habitat. Its amazing. Lots of awesome scenic areas which are easy to get to. On the off chance you end up in Wellington, stop by the "Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa Tongarewa)". Some of the exhibits are incredible, incluyding the WW1 exhibit on Gallipoli, which was one of the most incredible and moving war exhibits I have ever seen. And if you're a drinked and enjoy Jim Beam and Coke, or Canadian Club and Seven Up, they have them in cans pre-mixed to 4.5%. I would HIGHLY recommend the pear cider.
  4. When you pop this gif, I know things are trending well. Never expected to see it in october... Not really all that realistic, but fun to see a non-negligible snowfall in october.
  5. Risking a total thread derailment, but where in New Zealand? I was out there two years ago in January and it was awesome. I have traveled internationally a lot, but it was one of the few places where I gave serious consideration to moving to. We priced out property but ultimately decided against it, mostly due to the costs involved in the grandparents coming out to see the babies.
  6. First snow of the year, AND it will have major travel impacts. Got a feeling I will be babysitting a number of accidents and DIDs Thursday.
  7. Warning criteria for a good chunk, holy smokes. GFS is super juiced too.
  8. For this time of the year, I’m not getting wrapped up with each model run. I’ve got all winter to stay awake awaiting model runs. I will call this a major win for mby if I see some rn/sn mix
  9. Can confirm, have gotten under 32 both nights. Expect another frost tonight
  10. Nice looking tornadic supercell south of Peoria
  11. Some wild flooding photos and videos coming out of the Peoria metro.
  12. After days of LOT pounding the “heavy rain and severe flooding” drum (and more recently the severe potential drum); I ended up with a less than impressive .88” yesterday. The sump pump didn’t even fire up. Looking forward to some nice temps this week.
  13. Some models hinting at N IL getting smoked with rain from the tropical remnants this weekend
  14. Fertilized regularly and I tend to keep it higher, so it doesn’t take much growth to get that shaggy look.
  15. Funny enough, my gauge also shows .81” this morning. Back to mowing 3 times a week
  16. I think I have been under more warnings today than the entire summer season. On my second severe thunderstorm warning with a tornado warning slipped in as well.
  17. Quite the train setting up from the Troy Grove area NE to aurora. Got a FFW now
  18. Dropped 13 degrees in 15 minutes when it blew through. A reasonable 82/71/86 now
  19. My PWS recorded a max of 93/83/118. Likely a little overdone, but still impressive nonetheless.
