    It is also consistently the fastest with the trailing vort that ends up producing the main system, I just don't see that happening and many of the mesoscale model/foreign models are slowing more and more run to run. GFS will either score the coup of the winter, or play catch up.

    Conversely several of the GEFS members are in the much more significant camp so there is that and the GFS has been putrid most of the year as well. Also the mean slid the snow swath southward some which it has been doing run to run, which is good because the bigger systems dig further south compared to flatter solutions.

    Says a lot about how bad the winter is and I should have been more clear, that it is not a huge region wide event but a decent hit for some.

    When was the last good year here? 2010 then before that 2001? It is more than lean years. Hell look back at the 50s-70s and what this state got, even before that there were impressive outbreaks in 1920 and 1896.

    The thread for that storm has a better shot of discussing severe weather vs winter weather at this point.

    Look out if we have a wet spring, that goes region wide too as you noted even the Great Lakes are insanely high.

    Been a nostorm so far.

    Positive tilted, it is going to suffer from some of the same things this system is suffering from, especially if that northern piece speeds up. Which it more than likely should.

    Bets on how it busts. My guess is seasonal trend south and since it is later on, rain as well.

    The northern end is a bit better this run comparatively to the last 3 runs.

    I mean how many storms looked at least decent in the day 2 to 4 range only to be crap when they hit. I can count 3 within the last week.

    I will be so glad when this winter is over. Tired of chasing ghosts on the models, hell a 2 day forecast can't even be done right.
