  1. Keep this climate stuff in the climate forum and the politics should not be on weather side either.
  2. Decent bit of storms yesterday evening, didn't amount to much rain though. Looks to be dry for the next week to 10 days with seasonal to seasonally warm temperatures. Pretty boring stretch to be honest.
  3. Super Tuesday snowstorm, remember it well Mount Pleasant had 16-20" of snow. It was also a couple days before my birthday. It was a complete mess going home that weekend too, state highways were still snowcovered 24 hours after the snow stopped.
  4. Had a DAB at home but as you got further west there were some decent accumulations, my mom lives in the far western part of Warren, and I would say she had about an inch on the grass this morning around 6AM.
  5. I am sure you are right on this. NW Ohio is the tornado alley of Ohio.
  6. This plus bad luck, you guys just get enough of that warm tongue aloft to ruin things.
  7. That's good, then there isn't as much of a change except long duration events get treated a bit more fairly now.
  8. My only worry is that a 5-6" snowfall falling in 6-8 hours is more impactful but now will be advisory criteria which people don't take advisories as seriously.
  9. Yeah not much explanation there curious as to the reasoning.
  10. Is there a tweet or anything posting it, where did you find that map? Maybe there is an explanation attached.
  11. Yeah, I would love to know the reasoning behind this tbh.
  12. Expect more WWA that will be for 4-6" and people complaining that there isn't a warning out. Idk why there was a change though, doesn't make much sense.
  13. I don't think its going to be a cold winter, I would lean warm, but that doesn't preclude a snowy winter at all. Way too many climo models are doing the base el nino without a single bit of thought or variance from it. Not all Ninos are the same though so the snow can be variable for the region. I would probably lean below normal off the lakes because of the warmer year but areas where synoptic snow happens 1 or 2 storms could make the year. It isn't going to be a consistent snow cover winter though, not only with el nino but we are just becoming less and less of a snow cover region. Yes I know there have been a couple recent years that were better than average but most recently have been below normal on snow cover.
  14. An end of an era next year, Skilling has been a true inspiration to so many mets for so many years and a wonderful guy overall. People use the word legend too much but Tom truly is a legend in meteorology.
  15. Climatologically we don't want an early season snowfall if you want a good winter. After Nov 15th is when you want it to snow.
  16. You seem to think I hate warm weather so you have been stuck on stupid since then. I am sorry you just can't parse reality.
