  1. The mother of all defo zones. It had a life of its own. In my mind, 40” of synoptic is equal to like 60” of LES. Just nutty that storm. The NWS could’ve gotten some use out of their crazy new snowfall scale. Lol
  2. Noooo. Keep the dustings and give me one big one. All in for a big one. I don’t even care if it melts in 3 days.
  3. No stoicism here. Just wait until you see a predicted storm crumble inside of 24 hours- then you’ll see real devastation. Lol. People be lining up on the bridge. And I’ll be first.
  4. Ouch. That is ugly. What changed in the last 2 weeks? We all gotta move to Alaska. It used to be the Tug but now it’s Alaska. Lol. Whatcha ya gonna do? Just walked around a xmas tree farm and was wishing for the white. We will have some, just gotta hold tight and endure the doom porn of the LR models for now.
  5. CSF weeklies are pretty much as bad as they come. Raging Pacific flat stream WITH a SE Ridge. Welcome back 20-21 winter. Hopefully we get a break in January because the rest of November and all of December look lost. But it’s the Long Range- they always suck. It was just a week ago that everyone was juiced (well, most everyone) for second half of November.
  6. Local met put up last winters total and it was 69”. Which by itself sucks but is even worse when you already got that dejavu feeling. I just can’t take the bait and switch shit. That pacific just plowing across the continent knocking down any and all ridges and valleys. oh well, that’s my bitching for the night.
  7. Are we entering the doldrums? I feel like we’re entering the doldrums.
  8. 18z GFS showing a pretty unique set up. Holds the LP over New England for about 24 hours longer allowing moisture and cold to be pulled down over us. Keeping it spicy
  9. Yep. I recall it well. Walked my dogs at 7:30 and 10 pm, hoping to enjoy some flakes. Absolutely zero parachutes. All darts. Mangled flakes and icy rain drops. The only surface that had anything was a plastic garbage can top that had just enough ice to leave a trail if I ran my finger through it. Nothing on leaves or grass. Temp was 34. This was in Pittsford.
  10. I don’t know what to tell you. I’ve yet to see an ‘unmangled ’ flake. There’s been zero accumulations in Pittsford or Irondequoit.
  11. The key is in his name: BuffaloWeather. Lol. I’m the same way. We just gotta wait a little longer.
  12. Haven’t had anything (other than some sleet/ mangled flakes) in Irondequoit or Pittsford. I think the airport caught a band the the other night. Have you guys had a dusting in Walworth?
  13. We’ve yet to have our first flakes in Rochester. Looks like we wait a bit longer.
  14. All signs of redevelopment or retrograde are gone on the 12z models. Yawn….
  15. I don’t think we had anything in Rochester. Flurries. I’d love to see a nice synoptic event this year. Spread the love around.
  16. If I could put $ on Christmas being balmy this year, I would. Timing doesn’t look good. It’s anew tradition- torch on XMas
  17. Negative tilt. Dropped south a bit. Can it ‘catch’ in time to give WNY/CNY wrap? Anyone east of 81 is in a better position IMHO. But that’s true with all EC development. Wild card is the lake.
  18. All the ingredients are in place. But it’s a tricky one. Ensembles have been supportive to an extent. I’m kinda 50-50 on this one. I think the ADKs/ New England have a much better shot. But I’m not counting us out.
  19. West Turin, Ava, west Leyden all get in on that little tongue of the Tug that extends SE. All are SSW of Lowville. They all get huge amounts. I drive through them quite frequently in the winter.
