  1. It’s funny how we sometimes hope for different things. For Buffalo, it’s actually good if the clipper goes further north. It allows a SW wind. For Rochester it just kills us. The SW wind gives us downsloping and then robs us of the NE wind that gives us our boost. All very evident on the RGEM. I think it’s a real solid possibility.
  2. Not what I want to see. For Rochester to see anything, this needs to stay over the southern tier but that’s a difficult track. These usually prefer to follow the lakes. RGEM is probably what we get.
  3. Getting some fingerlakes effect snow on the Binghamton feed. Any one know how to import a RadarScope App video? Keeps saying it’s too big but I know it’s possible.
  4. I was just coming to post this exact view. Perfect set up for the micro climate there. Huron adding moisture, uplift, the winds won’t shred that. I’ve been saying for 5 days- over a foot on the ridge. Maybe 18”+.
  5. As I suggested, earlier in the week, this looks more and more like an orographic event. I still like the ridge for over a foot. The radar is going to be fun to watch. I fear anyone along the lake plain will be disappointed. The MESO models continue to trim expectations for the Rochester area. Syracuse and especially the hills just south are still the wild card in my mind. Anyway, happy Thanksgiving you all. It’s been a rough year for me but I’m amazed at how much I still have to be thankful for.
  6. Couldn’t agree more. I love how a LP can prime that atmosphere and blanket us with enhanced snow. Little grainy flakes from the LP and parachutes from the lake. Perfect combo
  7. 3k doing interesting things. Big snowstorm for VT and ADK if this happens
  8. First thoughts (and usual caveat that I suck and am terrible at this) is that Thurs-Saturday look interesting…..for inland elevated areas. The winds will be a bit too strong and the general air will be a bit too dry for much along the south shore. I could see ski country, south of Buffalo, coming in with 1-2 feet. Buf and Roc 1-3”. A swift NW flow just doesn’t really hit many of us. Syracuse could be a wild card though.

  10. BTW, EPS is now significantly colder for early/mid December. LR is a joke. I don’t know why I bother with it. But anyway, maybe our Torch December ends up cold.
  11. Finally got our first dusting in Irondequoit. Only a quarter of an inch. But it was my first snowfall.
  12. Buf hits rochester with its first headline of the season without any support from any models. Ballzy . I’ll be going much lower on this one. I’ll be grateful to have my first dusting. Wolfie looks to be in ok position for a quick few. Maybe Revracer in Hannibal. I’d suspect that Roc and SYR just get after spray. But ya never know with these!
  13. I was thinking that I didn’t remember it as an ‘early’ storm. Still, one for the books. Incredible stuff! Worthy of a whole month of remembrance. Lol
  14. Pretty far north on HRDPS. Pretty far south on 3k. These are often forecasted too far south. My pick is north. Good luck Wolfie and Freak.
