  1. Wet blanket here. Fundamentals remain exactly the same through mid/early Jan (as far as it goes). Perhaps a touch weaker on the Aleutian heights. I wouldn’t look for anything lasting until after second week of Jan. I don’t know where this relentless optimism comes from online.
  2. Much, much less snow in Irondequoit. Only about 1/2” up here. Wild the difference a few miles makes. Areas of Monroe with almost nothing and areas over 8”.
  3. It’s true. The best ones aren’t forecasted. What a great surprise. 4.5” in Pittsford. Champagne powder. It’ll be a race against the warmth to see if we can make it to Christmas. Big kudos to the RGEM for being the only model to sniff it out- several runs in advance. It is far and away our best LES model. One note: the band ended further SW of what was modeled. Typically they end up a tick NE. But as everyone knows, south shore lake effect is impossible to forecast.
  4. I’ll bet someone in SW Monroe ends with 10” or so. That band is persistent
  5. Enormous flake size. This is awesome. Such a great surprise!
  6. Nice! I know the camera can never do it full justice either. The band is now just getting into mby. Really hoping it parks it for a bit. A lot of energy in this, lots of graupel mixing in.
  7. Pittsford is now back into the band. Delta wasn’t kidding. It’s for real.
  8. Definitely unusual band placement. SW Monroe county doesn’t usually win.
  9. Strong band just sitting about 3 miles to my south for the last hour. NAM wants to bring it back up into Monroe county overnight. Haven’t had much more than flurries here in Pittsford for the last 1.5 hours.
  10. Just surpassed 1”. The drought is over. Woohoo! Delta and airport really crushing it. Maybe get an official white Christmas at ROC?
  11. Heard Spencerport already has 2”. I bet Delta and the airport have 1”+. It’s really coming down now.
  12. Hammer time here in Pittsford! Snow globe stuff. Beautiful. Getting close!!!
  13. I’m just happy it looks like winter. Even if only for a minute. It’s been cellular in nature. It’ll snow really hard for a few minutes and then flurries. It looks better on radar.
  14. Not with that 1040 HP parked in the Gulf of Alaska. This is classic strong La Niña pattern right here. That CF will just wash out and reload to the west. We need a change in the Pacific to move the big players around. Right to the last frame the players are the same. Albeit a tad weaker
  15. Point and click in NE Monroe county advertising half inch or less. P+C in central Wayne 1-2”. RGEM likes it but that’s about it.
  16. There are still flowers blooming in Rochester. Snap Dragons and the such. To quote Tim, “This pattern is infuriating “. I see no signs of a breakdown (in the pattern that is).
  17. This is so close. It’s just a horrible tease. Damn it! Lol
