Guys, I keep forgetting which page I’m on. Lol. Talking about LES on our main page- oops. We had 3 going for a minute.
Anyways, these were interesting to me:
Guys!! The overall pattern is great. Give it time. This will provide.
Current storm: HiRez models came in pretty bullish for extreme eastern Monroe and central Wayne county. Wolfie still looks to be in the bullseye but dang that is a narrow strip.
IDK. I can’t remember the sweep ever giving us more than 1-2”. Not a fan of this set up for south shore. It’s gonna really fly and be windy too. Crazy for an hour.
He’s all in on Wolfie’s locale. Consider it noted! Gotta say I agree, although the big ones sometimes get hung up a tad north. Kinda think the south shore gets the shaft on this one. The sweep is rarely as good as it’s modeled in my experience. The dry air that follows just kills us.
Great depiction of Rochester’s mini snowbelt out near Penfield. There’s a little elevation out that way that helps I think. I’ve always wanted to get a home in that area. Irondequoit Bay might also aid in snow production there.
Also saw your post regarding the ‘convergence’ zone in the disco and totally agree with you.
That same thought occurred to me- “that kid better not be crying for a while”. Lol. I’m still scraping the bottom so I get to keep moaning and bitching. Ha!
OMG! I just looked and you are 100% correct! I always thought Carol was on the Northern part of the Tug- she’s more central. And Lowville is actually pretty far North.
My bad.
I said problems start at .75” but I’d definitely agree it gets bad around 1”. But I’ve found people start getting real excited with small amounts and it just does matter unless you are driving.
91 was insane.
Yeah. Every time I say that folks disagree. But Rochester has had like 3 major ice storms in my life and they all had 1.25-2.5” ice accretion. We’ve had several lesser ones with under 2/3” without any major impacts.
I suppose wind would change that.
Bet it’s mistaking sleet. Even so, and people always get upset when I say this, 1/2” of frz rain isn’t much. You don’t get into trouble until you get .75-1”. Of course driving is a bitch on much, much less.
Only time my parents pipes ever froze. Schools in Rochester was canceled for a week due to cold.
All the while, I was spending a warm winter out in Montana. Crazy times.
