Our bands are the worst. Of the 20 winters I’ve lived on the south shore we’ve had like 2 good years for lake effect. Pure lake effect that is. Which is why I live and die on that synoptic hill.

I spend a lot of time on Brantingham Lake and there is definitely no Natural Gas there. Time Warner does offer high speed internet. Where did he buy? On the lake? There’s been very few properties available.

Surprising amounts of hits in there

Last couple model runs have been deflating to say the least. I remain hopeful that we pull out at least one big one in the next two weeks or so. It’s a great pattern. But it is tough to see the models roll out 10-15 days and not really give us anything but flurries.

Yeah, unfortunately the frontal passage is usually very fast and almost always underperforms. I’m betting on a couple inches at most. We get a quick look at what Wolfie has for 12 hours.

With the frontal passage and NW flow tonight I think Rochester sees just about 1-2”. No need for flags. Boring.

What was the ratio with Buffalo’s recent event? I could be wrong.

The only time we get anywhere near 25:1 is with tea kettle snow. Typical LES is probably 16:1. Typical synoptic stuff is usually 8:1-12:1. It would be a bad idea to do any math based on 25:1.

I think it’s the most exciting time frame we’ve had since last February. I’ll eat my hat if we don’t score at least one big one in the next two weeks. And while I’m at it, BufWX was right on time with this pattern change. He was calling it well before Christmas. Great call.
