Looking more and more like this cold spell breaks right at the beginning of February. Could be an epic thaw. I know one person who’ll be jumping for joy and shaving his legs.
This is why you guys love the clipper train. Here in the ROC we’re getting the same old downslope game. 1/2” so far. Pittsford to be specific. For us to win these little pieces of energy need to go over PA.
We should figure a way to monetize all our weather knowledge. Hedge funds make all kinds of cash working from small advantages played on the margins of different industries. I’d bet there’d be a way to make big $ in a couple key industries just by understanding long term weather and moving quickly to capitalize upon it. Commodities futures are the obvious play but I wonder if there aren’t other sectors that turn on this.
I’m sure some of you remember the story about the meteorologists that bought oranges just prior to a big Florida freeze and made a killing!
12z EURO still has a storm and it clicked west a bit. Still looks like a miss. ENS from 0z has several members being hits. But majority are misses. It is a watcher though
Stowe and Sugarbush. First weekend of February. The long range definitely gives me pause but we’re locked in. We chose N VT because we had a disastrous trip to Killington a few years ago (weather wise).
I also have a trip planned to Holiday Valley for a music festival March 19-20. It’s a Grateful Dead cover band called Darkstar Orchestra. Skiing, music and drugs? Yes please!
Where out west do you want to go?
