  1. Hopefully some better snow flake growth works in here - otherwise reaching 3 or 4 inches will take several days with the baking soda falling from the sky now.
  2. The NFL needs to have some classic performers for halftime such as Springsteen or the Rolling Stones as these guys are getting up there in age and won't be around forever. This guy and the mummys - what is that?
  3. Writing is on the wall that this one will be more of a nuisance than something a little more fun in this corner. Never was expecting any thing crazy, but was hoping for a 3-6 incher. For those to the south and east enjoy.
  4. Have the players involved in what might occur on Sunday entered into better data sampling zones? I know a few days ago one of the mets posted that it would be a couple of days until the ingredients hit better data regions.
  5. This would be pretty amazing as we had 10 inches at 4 PM when I did the first snowplowing and it has been coming down pretty hard most of the time since. We have a good chance of landing north of 20 inches if this is keeps going for a while.
  6. Says the man who is checking out the weather charts to see if it it safe to go outside
  7. I think Belichick's head just did a complete 360 degree turn while projectile vomiting pea soup with Brady heading to another Super Bowl without him.
  8. We need to look at that, the hospital seems to think that the VNA aren't working on Covid+ patients. Will confirm tomorrow AM.
  9. Thanks - I got lost in all the webpages and did not see that one.
  10. Thanks - this is turning into quite the predicament.
  11. Maybe somebody has experience with this one: My mother is recovering from Covid and may be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. At this point, she is not able to care for herself and we are having problems finding a rehab facility for her. We have been advised that she will probably still be shedding the virus for another week+ and none of us children have had Covid. Presumably in a couple of weeks she will be able to come home and take care of herself, but we need a way to bridge this. Most rehabs don't want anything to do with a Covid+ patient (I understand the logic). Any insights from other's experiences would be appreciated. I can't imagine this is an isolated problem.
  12. My mother was admitted to the hospital as a probable Covid patient on Friday - did not get test results until Monday, she was positive. She is still hospitalized but improving. She was as protected as she could be (only a couple of family members were in and out of her house and she does not drive or leaving her house except for a couple of doctor's appointments) and somehow it still got to her.
  13. One suggestion - have a pillow handy to apply some pressure to the area just in case you need to sneeze or cough. I learned the hard way - sneezed without putting pressure on it and holy crap did that hurt. Next time with pillow - not a big deal. In general, the anticipation of the surgery was worst than the actual surgery.
  14. Don't know economically if it is better to have a 3+/- week shutdown (would need to be on a regional basis to be effective) to try to bring this back under control or the death by a thousand paper cuts approach.
  15. We from CT are running out of states to travel to. NY, NJ, RI and HI are the only ones left. We can go to VT but it sounds like they don't want us. I realize it is nearly impossible to enforce, but symbolic of the rapid increases beginning to happen in the area.
  16. Hockey rinks are unique with respect to this virus. The air is cold and stays trapped above the ice and the glass dams the air up. Also in order to keep the ice in good shape, ventilation is not designed to exchange out the cold the air above the ice.
  17. Pats game against the Broncos now moved to next Sunday.
  18. Lightning in the distance was profuse 20 minutes or so ago, barely any lightning now. Maybe it will surprise me, but odds are the thunderstorms will be dead as they traverse the last 15 miles to get here. 0.32 inches here for the day.
  19. Yeah, rough summer for plants. Been spending a lot of time watering to keep the new plantings going around the house. Mature trees looking very tired from the dry stress.
  20. Some serious rain would be welcome - I was digging a trench last weekend and at 2-3 feet, the soil was bone dry.
  21. 14 feet is generally the maximum width for wide loads. I had a 16 foot wide prefab shed and it had to be delivered in 2 pieces which were then married together and the roof had to be constructed in place.
  22. So far the rain has been the most impressive component.
