  1. Sorry to hear this. Know what you are going through. Glad to hear she is doing ok for now.
  2. So my family has had quite the last two weeks. Not only was my brother in OH, an essential employee at Fermi Nuclear Power Plant in MI as an Electrician, tested positive for COVID-19. He has been in quarantine in his home with only mild symptoms for now. Then yesterday my mom calls me from FL to tell me that my other brother in GA fell off his roof about 45 ft. down as he lives in the GA mountains and their back yard slopes down. He was life flighted to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. No family can see him as he is in ICU but my sister who lives in Atlanta picked up his wife and drove her up to at least be closer. Lucky for him just broken bones and a bad laceration on his head. The older Miss J. was supposed to have her recital this weekend, which has been postponed to August. And it is my sisters 17th Anniversary today hoping she gets to go back to Atlanta to be with her husband. Needless to say I have a rose bush. It has a mess of buds on it but as of last night they had not opened. This morning when I went out to water the front garden I found this perfectly opened bloom. The timing could not be any better. Mother Nature shows you her beauty just when it is needed.
  3. @WxUSAFHere you go Coconut Chicken Curry I love that smell. But actually this one did not leave the curry smell in the house. Maybe because it used about 7 different spices along with the Curry powder. That is usually what I make. But have gotten to like coconut milk in things.
  4. Made some Curry tonight. New recipe and it was darn tasty!
  5. Ok so Mr. J. Wanted a hair cut. All I had was horse clippers and a mane comb. Had to deal with a wasp flying up my shorts and stinging the crap out of my thigh, but I got him sheared. Don’t ask me how good I did. Let’s just say his head is cooler now.
  6. Nah, I like to gross my kids out!
  7. Don't get me wrong. I try a lot of things. The two things I grew up with that I refuse to eat anymore is Hamsalad and Boiled Dinner. I get that some things may taste good but it has to pass my bad gag reflix first. Or else it will come out looking worse than going in.
  8. I don't know if I want to Google that one! But probably will.
  9. I am having fun with this! The older Miss J. just did the gag/barf face with this one.
  10. @H2O that is unthinkable but here is one for you. Potato salad cake with hotdogs
  11. Next time you come there are some other Breweries and Distilleries you should check out. McClintock Distilling and X Ward Distillery are right downtown. Frederick Beer
  12. Ok so saw it was 64 out and opened up the whole house. Came up from the downstairs and it feels like a sauna in here! 64/65/63
  13. People in this area travel a lot for destination. Downtown Frederick, when open, is a destination city for DC folks. They come up for the restaurant scene.
  14. Ok so I just made my HS’ers snicker at the name of this beer!
  15. Ah if you can pass that recipe along. I am 1/8 Greek and have been taking time to get into that part of the family that we did not grow up with. My grandmothers father was from Crete but her mom and dad divorced, yes scandalous in the 1910's and we really do not know anything about that side of the family. I am trying to do it through food.
  16. This is so easy you can do it with your Miss Mappy.
  17. So I decided today instead of just posting what we are having for dinner I would share the recipe. This is one of my go to easy dinners that looks and tastes like you spent hours on it. Spinach Lasagna Roll Ups. Sauce, while I can and do make my scratch usually from scratch this recipe just get some Italian sausage and brown it up in a pot and then add your favorite jar sauce. Cook 8 lasagna noodles and then put them on some waxed paper or parchment paper. The filling is 1 container of Ricotta, 1 cup Mozzarella and 1 cup of Parmesan and a box of frozen chopped spinach thawed and squeezed dry. Slightly beat one egg in a bowl add all the ingredients from above and salt and pepper to taste and mix it up. Spread the mixture on the lasagna noodles and spread it out. Then roll the lasagna up and place into a cooking dish with some of the sauce spread on the bottom. When all 8 are in the dish cover with more sauce, you will probably have some left over so use that for another quick pasta dish. Add mozzarella and Parmesan and oregano on the top. Then bake @350 for 30-40 min. I have not baked mine yet as it is not dinner so you can put it in the fridge for a bit if made early. Enjoy!
  18. Are you in the area with Tornado Warnings?
  19. Plugging along on my Fallout inspired bookshelf. And another projected started with bottle caps. Ran short though so told Mr. J that he needed to go out and get some variety 6 packs for bottle caps.
  20. Made Cajun Shrimp and Sausage with Peppers. And I wanted cheese grits so I babysat them and made them.
  21. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s here. The 2 Miss J’s made my favorite baked French toast for this morning.
  22. Happy Mother's Day to you as well. Happy Planting!
  23. So did my annual Mother's Day tradition a day early. All I ask for is an unlimited budget at my favorite local nursery. The only thing different is that I usually come home and start planting. I will not be planting till tomorrow afternoon at the earliest most likely Monday. Got a Bahn Mi from a local Vietnamese food truck that was at the nursery for lunch. Was actually a better day for some Pho but the Pork Belly was calling my name in the Bahn Mi.
  24. Nope. Having worked in restaurants in HS and college I know what all it requires. I only cook and bake for family and friends. I find relaxation in cooking and baking, and a restaurant I do not find relaxing. I am happy to pass along recipes for those who want them though.
